About Me

Hi guys! Not sure how I'm supposed to describe myself, but I'd say I'm just a regular guy who grew up in Rio de Janeiro and has lived abroad for two semesters, in Columbia - MO / USA. That experience was in 2012 when I got a scholarship at the University of Missouri. My major is Industrial Engineering and I am already graduated (Thanks God! :p) I have a very busy life in Rio, which during the week I basically work and go to the gym. Sometimes I go out for a happy hour with friends from work, but I prefer to drink during the weekend, since I don't have too many errands to accomplish. The English I speak is not perfect, but I can keep up a good conversation – even with my broken English I can make myself understandable.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My best friend and I (it’s a girl) are going to NYC for Xmas and New Years’ Eve. We found a good promotion online and we only paid US$ 500 round trip. So we decided to buy the tickets, with no much money. As I’m sure most of you know, the Brazilian economy/currency is really bad right now. So for each dollar we pay $4 reais, which is crazeee :’( So as we don’t have much money, we decided to reach people from NYC area just to know if one of you can host us. I have another friend of mine, who always travels coachingsurfing, and she told me that it is possible to find down to earth people on here, so I decided to sign up on this website to see if I am lucky as her. I think this part of the profile is awesome so that people who offer a shelter can get to see what the travelers are interested and why we need a shelter for a period of time. So, I’m going to be the most clear and opened about my interests and how I deal with my life.

Interests

I don’t have much spare time during the week, because I work a lot. I really enjoy my work, it’s not a problem for me working extra hours, but I basically spend the weekdays at the office and working out. As mentioned before, I love exercising, lifting weights, doing cardio and stuff. I would say I am a very easy going person. I hardly fight with someone about stupid things. Everything is cool for me. During the weekends I like to hit the beaches in Rio, go for a run by the beach, tan, go out with friends for a drink and clubbing. There’s no way for me to say no to a drink! Ha!

Music, Movies, and Books

I’m not picky with anything, so I’d say I like a bit of everything. I like some of hip-hop, Brazilian music, house music, and so on. I have just read called “Sonho Grande”, which the direct translate would be “The big dream”. It tells the history about some guys who are really successful in business in Brazil, running the largest beer company in the world. And their “Big dream” was a long ago, if I’m not mistaken, in 2008, to buy Budweiser industry. So they did it. Also they run the fast-food chain Burger King, Heinz and one of their friends, who helped them to make business around the world is Warren Buffett, the owner of Walmart. They preach simplicity and savings throughout their companies and in the way of doing business in general way. I loved this book. It inspired me a lot to archive my dreams and work hard, cause someday it will pay off. I don’t want to sound workaholic, but I love what I do. Btw, I work for the supply chain team of a big cosmetic industry.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Not sure if I really have don’t something VERY amazing! Haha. Maybe I have done, but I don’t know what that is. So I’d would say we should get to know in person and I can tell a little bit more about my life and experiences I’ve been through in life :D

What I Can Share with Hosts

As mentioned before, I am a very easy going person. The friend who is going with me is really easy going as well. She is my best friend and we basically spend a lot of time together. We always go out for clubbing and drinking. We also don’t mind if we will have to share the same bed. We have done that A LOT of times before. I’m sure will be drunk enough not to bother if we will have to share the same bad or not. Also, we would like to find someone who can share some time and go out for a drink, walk, dance with us. We are looking for more than a shelter, we would like to meet a friend which he/she can be hosted in our house in Rio de Janeiro as well.
