Overview
About Me
Hi there, my name is Diego, i´m 30, and at this time master degree student at Universidad de Salamanca, Spain.
I grew up next to the Cordillera de Los Andes in a place called Chillán. Before a came to Spain i had been working for the chilean goverment and studying english in Belfast, Northern Ireland.
My favorite hobbies are travelling (specially places that i have not any reference), reading and listening old and 90´s music.
Currently, im planning studying a Phd in Europe, probably Rotterdam, and heading towards new adventures.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Since i was a child, i´ve been meeting people from foreign countries sharing experience and plenty of points of view about life, aims, music, art and so on. Also, due to my parents gave me for a globe for one of my birthday, i turned into new-cultures consumer (adict precisally) and i´ve been travelling since i´ve had money for.
During my experiences i´ve figured out that the best way to do a total inmersion into the real culture of the places is meeting locals. Moreover, even the communitation could not be fluid because of the different lenguages, but you can always, as a local, transmit the proper way to show your place.

Music, Movies, and Books
Mainly early-90´s music like Alice in Chains, Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, grunge in general. Although, i usually have "musical seasons" during i listen plenty of rithyms (Rock, Brit Pop, Metal, etc).
I love mop movies and series as The Godfather trilogy, GodFellas, The Intouchables, Donnie Brasco, Boardwalk Empire. I like WWII-films aswell.
About book, probably i´d sound a wee boring but i read legal, economics and historical books, specially the first ones.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
About travelling-topic, i´ve travelled by my own to middle east during an important political inestability epoch (a wee terrorist strikes in Turkey and Egypt) and survive jaja, even though, my most important experience is work as a volunteer for a few year on the reconstruction of the coastal area of my region after the 8.8 degrees earthquake and tsunami wich stroke my homeland.
Teach, Learn, Share
It´d sound a wee arrogant tell what i can teach and share. However, i believe that everyone has the potential to participate in the teach-learn-share dynamic and be valuable. The important thing is take part being humble, open-minded and tolerant.
What I Can Share with Hosts
A bed to rest, main tips to discover the city, the easiest ways to move through the city and country, a talk if they want it, and, overall (if i have enough time and money), all the things that they need.
