About Me

Hi!! My name is Diego, and I am from Vigo, Spain. In the last 15 years I have been living in other countries like Portugal (with an Erasmus scholarship), Italy, Canada or Greece. I have travelled to other countries like Tunisia, Czech Republic, England, France or Netherlands. After 1 year at home, now I am arriving to a new city, Vitoria-Gasteiz.
When I am not travelling, I use to work as an administrative responsible (I studied International Business and Corporate Social Responsibility) and, in my spare time, I like hiking (I love nature), play sports (tennis, football...), play music (guitar and most of all piano), going out with friends or just stay with my family. I am also a Humans Rights activist.
I am an easy going, optimistic and open minded person, with a cheerful and outgoing personality, but I am responsible and organized too. I love to meet new people and to know new cultures.
I am not in Spain now, so I can not offer you my couch or my help to show you my city but, of course, I will be able to do that as soon as I come back there.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am in Couchsurfing because I love to travel and to know new people, countries and cultures, and I think that Couchsurfing is one of the best ways to do that. Furthermore, when you are travelling, I think that it is important to know people living in the places you are visiting, in order to know better those places (and not only know them as a tourist). Finally, I love to help people visiting my city to know it better, showing them the most special places there, and making them feel at home.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love music, and I can listen and dance different kinds of music depending on the moment or place I am. I love to discover new musicians or kinds of music when I am living or travelling abroad.
I like different kind of movies with different themes, from based in real facts dramas (Spotlight, Mar adentro or Hotel Rwanda) to surreal comedies like Life of Brian. I also like documentaries about history or social problems.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The last crazy thing that I have done it was to leave my job, my house and to sell my car, just to fulfill my dream of travelling as a backpacker this year.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you Spanish, how to cook some Spanish food, things about Spanish and mostly Galician culture (Galicia is my region in Spain, and we have a different language, music and traditions), or even how to play some sports or instruments.
I want to know new cultures, languages, people, places and ways of life.

What I Can Share with Hosts

As I say in my description, I am an easy going, optimistic and open minded person, with a cheerful and outgoing personality, but I am responsible and organized too so, I can offer good and funny moments sharing one beer, or just talking about life while we walking around the city, but also I can offer a guarantee of seriousness and responsibility.
