Overview
About Me
I am a Software Engineer from Santa Fe, Argentina. Like almost every Argentinian, I consider myself very talkative and curious about everything. Between August 2016 and June 2017 I had two amazing experiences, one in Gdansk (Poland) as an intern in a Software Company and the other one as a student in Oshawa (Canada). In the meantime, I took advantage of every single free day to travel around. Now it's time to settle down for a while and finally finish my studies.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To meet awesome people and have a complete experience while traveling.
Unfortunately, not so many travellers come to visit my city since it is not very touristic. However, I would love to host international couchsurfers and show them how beautiful is Santa Fe and its 450 years of history.
Interests
I love travelling, but not just going around taking random pictures everywhere and collecting stamps in my Passport. I like to get involved in the country I visit, eat their food, try to learn their language, their history, know their culture and, of course, meet their people.
I am really into mathematics and logical thinking most of all, that is why I study engineering. Moreover, I have played rugby for ten years and I am a soccer fan of my local team Union de Santa Fe. Anyway, I like to know a little bit of everything: history, politics, books and geography. Unfortunately, I am not good in music nor art, but I find it interesting to listen to people who do know about those topics.
When I was 18 years old I started being a Discrete Mathematics tutor, helping around 30 students each semester to approve that class at the university. The following year, being 19 years old, I became a Teaching Assistant at the Algorithms and Data Structure course. I am quite proud of that and I really like being a teacher, probably not as a full-time job, but definitely yes as a part time hobby.
Music, Movies, and Books
Music: Argentinian Rock (Sui Generis, Spinetta, Cerati, etc.), and Argentinian Cumbia, but I like pretty much everything.
Tv shows and films: Nueve Reinas (Arg.), El secreto de sus ojos (Arg.), Relatos salvajes (Arg.), Breaking Bad, How I Met Your Mother, Sherlock, Friends, 12 Monkeys, The Game, Memento, Game of Thrones, Rick and Morty, Black Mirror, any movie made by Tarantino.
Books: I love reading thrillers and historical novels. Just to mention a one of each genre, I would say The Psychoanalyst and Alexandros.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I have lived and worked as an intern in a Software company in Poland. That is 13.000 km (8100 miles) away from Argentina, where the weather, the food, and the people are completely different compared to my country. I think that was amazing.
I have got a scholarship from the Canadian Bureau for International Education within the Emerging Leaders of the Americas Program, and thanks to that I lived four months in Oshawa, Ontario. When I finished, I travelled for one month and a half more around Mexico and California.
I have visited 24 out of 195 countries in the world.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can be your Spanish teacher and show you some Argentinian cool traditions and food.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I'm usually very busy because of the university. Anyway, my home is available for guests. Also, we can always just meet and drink some "Yerba Mate" or beer and go around the city.
