About Me

Hi! Well, it's hard to talk about yourself but I'll try!

I was born and live in a town near Seville. I could describe myself as an easy-going, funny and pleasant guy (I think no one would write something bad about him/herself haha).

Languages, cultures and societies are the most enjoyable things that human beings can experience. I think that's why I studied Translation and Interpreting. Building bridges between people. That's what I want to be. The meticulous architect that is always looking for the meaning of little things. I'm thirst for knowledge and the best way to solve this, to be a better person, more human, is travelling.

When you plan a trip you're always anxious because you've dreamed travelling to that city or that country. But when you arrive there, you realize that what impress you the most is the people and the experiences you'll live with them.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

The concept of Couchsurfing is quite interesting. I think most of people nowadays see it like a free way of travelling.

But the concept of Couchsurfing is not that one. I've to say that I was very impressed when a teacher told me about Couchsurfing. I had never heard something like that before.

So, in 2012, a friend and I joined in CS, write our first profile (which had many mistakes in English), and started to look for someone who could help us in London.

After so many weeks waiting, a nice Polish family wanted to help us. We didn't contact with them. They did. Then an awesome guy from Canada did the same. I was shocked because they didn't know us, but they opened their homes to us.

That was our first Couchsurfing experience. We spent a few days with both of them and they were incredible considerate and friendly with us, so if you want to get hosted by them (OR IF YOU WANT TO HOST THEM) please go down to my references and take a look at their profiles.

Currently, I cannot host anyone because we've got an important lack of space at home right now. BUT when I leave home, I will definitely do it. I had a close "host experience" with an American guy from New York that was looking for a place in Seville. He contacted me and I did as much as I can to host him, but finally a friend of mine could host him for almost a week.

Interests

As I said before, languages, cultures and societies. Anyway, I do like other things hahaha. I'm rather obsessed with architecture. Well, art in general. Skyscrapers around the world and ancient buildings like cathedrals, monuments, mosques or even average houses.

I really like photography but I haven't got any professional camera yet. I can do a great job with my mobile camera! Haha

Music, Movies, and Books

Obviously, music is one of my favourite things that humanity has achieved. I've got a very diverse music taste. Some days I listen to the most alternative album ever and the next day I put Radiohead or ABBA.

Regarding to books and movies, I've to confess that I don't read as much as I would like to do. But I read a bit. More or less three books per year. The same happens with movies and series, but in Summer I watch some of them.

My favourite book: La sombra del viento, by Carlos Ruiz Zafón (The shadow of the wind).
My favourite movie: Inception.
My favourite TV series: Lost.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I'm staring in front of the screen thinking of what is the most incredible thing I've ever done. And after a few minutes thinking, I can say that the most awesome thing I (try to) do is making someone laugh. :)
