¡¡Hola a todos!!

Mi nombre es Diego, y soy un biólogo vasco al que le encanta viajar y conocer gente y culturas nuevas. ¿Te gustaría compartir algo de tiempo conmigo?

Sobre mí, tengo que decir que la naturaleza es y ha sido mi más intensa pasión desde que era pequeño. Me encanta el montañismo e ir al campo, así puedo conocer a los animales y a las plantas, intentando entender cómo conviven en un equilibrio perfecto. Desafortunadamente, los humanos lo estamos destruyendo todo. Por ello, siento que tengo un compromiso para con la conservación de la naturaleza, y por ello quiero dedicar mi vida al estudio y la investigación de la vida salvaje.

Por otro lado, la música es una de mis mayores debilidades. Soy flautista (flauta travesera, tin whistles, quena), pero también toco la guitarra y el ukulele, y creo firmemente que la música es un modo de comunicación universal que va mucho más allá de cualquier relación entre personas, ya que nos hace más humanos. Una de las grandes razones por las que viajo es para conocer las culturas de los lugares a los que voy y, dentro de ellas, la música.

Del mismo modo, el deporte es un elemento clave en mi vida diaria. He jugado a fútbol (soccer) desde que era muy pequeño, pero también he hecho natación, tenis o baloncesto, por nombrar algunos.

Lo último, pero no por ello lo menos importante, soy una persona a la que le encanta escuchar y compartir vivencias, historias y experiencias con gente. Creo de verdad que es una manera excelente de crecer como persona!!!

Hi everyone!!!

My name is Diego, and I am a Basque biologist who loves traveling and meeting new people and cultures. Will you like to share some time with me?

About me, nature has been my passion since I was a child. I love mountaineering and going to the field and getting to know both animals and plants, trying to understand how they live together in a perfect equilibrium. Unfortunately, we humans are destroying all of it. Therefore, I feel a strong commitment to nature conservation and so I want to devote my life to wildlife research.

On the other hand, music is one of my deepest "weaknesses". I play flutes (transverse, whistles, quena), guitar and ukulele, and I feel that it is a universal way of communication that goes beyond any relationship, and makes us more human. One of my reasons for travelling is to get to know different types of music.

In the same way, sports play a key role in my everyday life. I have played soccer since I was very young, but I also love swimming, playing tennis or basketball, to name a few.

Last but not least, I love hearing stories and sharing memories and experiences with people!! I truly believe that it is a way to learn and to grow up!!!

Hoy día, vivimos en un mundo en el que parece que estamos perdiendo nuestro sentido de la amabilidad y la hospitalidad con la gente. La recesión económica, la guerra y la intolerancia hacia otras culturas están forzando al ser humano a odiar a otros simplemente porque son diferentes. Pero, yo me pregunto: ¿estamos felices con este estilo de vida?

Hay un cantante argentino de folklore (Jose Larralde) que dice "Nunca olviden que, de la puerta para afuera, también vive gente". Mi sentimiento es que solamente viajando podremos realmente apreciar lo afortunados que somos de haber nacido en este precioso mundo, lleno de diferencias, sí, pero también lleno de cosas únicas.

Nowadays, we live in a sort of world where we are losing our sense of kindness to people. Economic recession, war and intolerance to other cultures are forcing humans to hate others just because they are different. But, are we happy with this way of living??

There is an Argentinian folklore singer (Jose Larralde) who says "Never forget that, outdoors, there is people" ("Nunca olviden que, de la puerta para afuera, también vive gente"). My feeling is that only travelling will we be able to appreciate how lucky we are to live in this beautiful world, full of differences, but also full of uniquenesses.
