Overview
About Me
I am an explorer. I just cannot stop searching for things that surprise me. I enjoy discovering nature, new sides of myself, experiences, cultures, new perspectives and philosophy. I go for any chance to get my current world view broadened and tested, even if that means destroying and recreating it.
Please challange me. :)
I believe it to be important to assume that any person is valuable. I feel that even nasty people usually just struggle to get along. I am interested in understanding what motivates people. How they understand life. And I am very happy for all the very different answers people come up with.
There are some things I just enjoy. One of them is white water canooying, pushing my boat through high waves of azul water between alpine mountains, concentrating to rush down a chataract and catch that small spot just behind that stone. Another is going on a hiking trip into nature, put up your tent somewhere out there next to a small fire, maybe somebody has a guitar?
Community is very important to me. If a friend is in need I make it a point to be there. Lets do something!
I love to make things cosy and homely. Imagine coming home from a cold and wet autumn storm to a cup of hot chocolate, wrapping yourself into a blanket, having a fire or some candles burning, talking to friends or reading a book.
I love seeing the endless colours and taking in the smells of different spices and street food on a bazaar somewhere in turkey or iran or india. The sun is burning. People are everywhere, joking and smiling. Different sounds can be heard, the horns of motor cycles, people shouting, laughing, maybe a muezzin is calling.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I have met many very nice, friendly and interesting people on couchsurfing. Having a place to stay while traveling is one thing. Getting to know people that you would never meet in your daily life is another.
Interests
I meet friends to play games, go on adventures or discuss and talk.
Throughout my life I have spent a lot of time playing music. Recently I sang in a band.
I have this long-term project figuring out connections between meaning in life, depression, neuroscience, perspectives of different therapy schools on depression.
