About Me

CURRENT MISSION

That would be to keep growing and strenghtening my current closer friendships and to cultivate, grow and develop new ones that can last for a long time and become meaningful and important in my life. And, as important as that, to do a career change to a job that I like more :)

ABOUT ME

I think that you will get more insights about me by reading "My interests" section below :) As a quick intro: I'm a colombian who has been living in Spain for 11 years, 8 in Valencia, 3 in Alcoy (Alicante) and very recently in Barcelona. I came here to do a PhD and stayed in this wonderful country that I love and where I have met great friends and got opportunities to grow as a person and as a professional. I like to met people with nice hearts, feelings and values and hope that I can also give you the chance to get valuable things in return :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I haven't surfed other couch but will have to start someday.

Interests

My main passion is cyclotourism and I used to organize group tours when I was living in Valencia. Now I'm in Barcelona, I'm starting to know the area to replicate the same thing. I love cycling and everything related to that! :) I also love to do local tourism instead of the crowdy mainstream travel paranoia: I prefer to take my bike (or train, which I also deeply enjoy) and get to know the small towns and villages, natural parks, rivers, discover castles, churches and have these funny conversations with local people at the local bars :)

Besides that, I think that I have a curious mind - sometimes, more than I would like - and get bored easily with routine. Although I have a scientific background, my heart belongs to the humanities and social sciences. I love to talk about philosophy, psychology, music (actually, I was going to study this when graduated from high school), arts in general, have a new interest in geography, also love to talk about economics and politics. However, can't quit entirely my engineering mind and still like to share comments on new tech advances, research and entrepreneurship.

I am more of a daylight kind of person instead of night party guy :-D I deeply enjoy fun and interesting conversations in a nice tearoom with a warm cup of tea and a bike ride or walk around the city. I also love to get out to have lunch or dinner in nice restaurants and I have a special weakness for kind, humble and smart people :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Leaving my country to come to Spain, totally alone with just three bags and tons of fears and doubts, and 11 years later seeing what I have accomplished in my personal and professional lives and being able to say that it has been the best experience of my life! :-)

Teach, Learn, Share

Take a look at "My interests" section: there you have what I can give in return, if you're interested ;-)
