About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To understand a little more about the world and myself and have a coffee with anyone along the way

ABOUT ME

I frequently travel around moving from place to place as I endure the rigorous process of being a college student pursuing a double major in Art and English and a minor in Japanese. My passion has always been for the arts and literature along with meeting different people and experiencing new things. My pride lays in my writings, fire performance and desire to learn new things. My life can be measured in coffee spoons.

PHILOSOPHY

Love can overcome anything

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I found the world around me is what influences my character and the more I find about other people the more I discover about myself. I want to provide a place of sanity and serenity for those who are on the quest of life and the pursuit of happiness.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Although I'm a new member of the community I've experienced several people that I've never met before opening their arms to me to give me shelter, help from a situation, or advice in whatever predicament I was in.

My favorite story has to be this:

I went to L.A. for the Electric Daisy Carnival (a 50,000+ person rave) and was pumped to go. I got on the plane and was heading out to the airport where I would arrive at the exact same time as my friend and we would venture off together to meet up with other friends that we would be staying with for the next couple of days. When I arrived at the airport I turned on my phone to find a voicemail detailing that my who was supposed to arrive at the same time I was couldn't... his flight was delayed and he wouldn't arrive until at least 6 hours later. Alone and wondering what to really do since I was in this airport for the first time I wandered to where my other friends would come and I would go to stay at their house with them. A couple of hours later I get a phone call from them... they missed their flight and weren't sure if they were even coming at all anymore. Starting to watch the hours of the clock blur from my confusion on what in the world I was going to do from being stranded in L.A. I frantically called people... anyone... to try and figure out where I was going to stay. 8 hours later I got a phone call from a friend who said that this boy James would pick me up. My cry for help trickled through people and James was nearby and was answering my cry for help. I was so desperate from being 9 hours in the airport that I input James' number into my phone as "Last Hope". He arrived half an hour later and whisked me away in a white van with his friend's mother in it. James explained to me that he was in the middle of a Swing Jazz Band practice at his friend Kennedy's house and that there were two things I needed to understand about Kennedy before entering the household. Kennedy was obsessed and concentrated on only two things in life. 1. Star Wars
2. The 50's
We pulled up to a nice looking home with a Model T in the driveway. When I walked in I saw Star Wars memorabilia everywhere and then there was Kennedy standing with gold circle glasses that curled back around his ears in the perfect 50's fashion, a dark tie hugging a white collared button up shirt and dark slacks that exposed the argyle socks that peeked out from shined black shoes. His hair was combed perfectly in an old style fashion as he waved his wand and the sound of slow jazz fluttered out of the room with a girl singing into an old style mic in a way that even Billie Holiday would feel proud of. I sank into the couch in bewilderment as I was offered snacks of an incredible variety and drinks from Kennedy's parents and watched James sit down with his trumpet and practice their enticing songs. When the practice came to an end we went for a spin in the Model T and battled with light sabers in the front yard. James told me since no girls could sleep over his house I'd be staying over his friends. I went to the house of a girl who was also a trumpet player and went to sleep to wake up and find that she made eggs, sausage and french toast for me. I had an amazing time with her for a few hours until James came and whisked me away once again to attend the Electric Daisy Carnival. When I arrived I met up with a friend named Patrick who said I could stay at his hotel room with him for free. For the rest of the time I spent it in a sweet Holiday Inn in downtown LA with close friends and was even able to attend the anime convention Anime Expo for free!!

Music, Movies, and Books

If it's got a beat I can dance to it

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've seen complete strangers extend out their hand to help someone they don't even know.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'd like to share my interests with others such as my interests and passions in the rave scene and fire twirling. I think that there are a lot of things that are misconceived through the media and through other people and that the most inspirational things are meant to be experienced. I want people to be able to experience some things that are not widely known like hidden spots on mountain tops where you can see the city.
