About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To live and love life.

ABOUT ME

First off, I'd like to ask you to check out the link below. I was interviewed for a local news report discussing couchsurfing. It should make your decision about staying on my couch or hosting me a little easier.

I'm very passionate about couchsurfing. I see it as a gateway to enlightenment. I grew up in a very rural and sheltered community. Couchsurfing is one of the things that has really broken the blinders on my eyes and revealed to me a whole new intriguing world full of interesting individuals.

The past ten years of my life have been quite dull. Always sacrificing and working long hard hours, waiting for a better day to come. On July 7,2013 I broke away from a job that prevented me from living life the way I wanted to. Now I live out the life I've always envisioned. The majority of the year I travel and live in foreign lands, capturing amazing photographs and sharing my perception of the world for all to see.

Most of my time now is dedicated to freelance photography all around the world. I thrive through sharing my work with others.

Here's another ridiculous news story on myself and my photography.

I currently own very little and try my best to experience as much of life as I can. My accomplishments in life are what continue to develop me into the person that I am today. My possessions are roadblocks, cutting me off from encountering life at its fullest. Its an intriguing and rewarding way for me to live my life.

"“Do not follow where the path may lead. Go instead where there is no path and leave a trail"
-Ralph Waldo Emerson

PHILOSOPHY

"Every man dies, Only a few men truly live." I am deeply passionate about living life to the fullest by exploring the world, educating myself, meeting new people with different beliefs, trying new foods, helping those who were born without opportunity, Etc. These experiences in life are what really makes us who we are, "things" just obstruct one from living life to the fullest from my point of view.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I enjoy hosting at my place and meeting people from all around the world as much as possible.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Ive only had good experiences with couchsurfing, whether hosting or being hosted. Im always learning new and different ways of life. For me, couchsurfing is more than just an experience. It is also a learning opportunity to better understand other ways of life that differ from my own. In the end, it makes me a better, more accepting person, and really aids me in understanding who I am it this world. The way I see it is "Many people hope to live 80 years...Most will live 1 year, 80 times." This typical rat race lifestyle is what I avoid at all cost. It ends up creating close mindedness and ignorance, and couchsurfing is a perfect solution to battle both of these habits of the human mind.

Interests

Photography is the main focus of my life now. For the past 10 years its been mostly work and sacrifice so I can have the opportunity that I now have.

Music, Movies, and Books

I am a documentary addict. Planet Earth, Human Planet, Frozen Planet, etc. I have a great appreciation for these amazing natural and cultural world occurrences that these videographers capture so perfectly. My next dream would be to become a member of a documentary filming crew.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Rode my bicycle 3700 miles (6000km) from the Atlantic Ocean on the east coast of the U.S. to the Pacific Ocean on the California west coast in 33 days.

Spent a month in Iceland with just my tent and sleeping bag. I fully relied on others for transportation. After one month living on the road and hitching rides, I had 53 cars stop and pick me up!

Drove nearly 6000km from London to northern tip of Europe, then took a plane 1500km north to the Arctic island of Svalbard, then turned around and drove back to London.

Teach, Learn, Share

Many people hope to live 80 years...most will only live 1 year 80 times.

This may mean getting outside your comfort zone and experiencing new things in life. It may be hard at first, I know it was for me...but that's the quickest way an individual can grow and live out a more fulfilling life.
