About Me

Hey guys,
Welcome to my trail head of social experience. I am an process engineer and project manager, raised in former East Germany, having lived and worked in different areas of Germany and Czech Republic and conducted projects in several European countries and further abroad and of course used to travel through this marvelous diverse world with family, friends and alone.
I believe in this unique perspective that everyone might share this special part of human live that lies in the exchange of thoughts and emotions, individual conception, confession and intercultural ideas. The desire of dialogue between open minded people are to be valued always higher than yearning for spectacular nature.
And yes, I do currently live in the heart of the stunning beauty of Saxonian Switzerland National Park serving a 300 years old house that keeps me busy as well.
When I travelled abroad, I have always enjoyed simple cozy and comfortable places after a tiring walk, but more over spontaneous hospitality of locals and plunging into local culture and open hearts.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

This is how I got into the ideas of hosting travelers utilizing the space of my old house, which always functioned as a resting place, guest house, tavern in all the years bygone.
I aiming to transfer my favourite style of travelling into my philosophy of hosting people and combining it with my passion for architecture, design and art in order to create my own home, but also suitable for tired travelers and hikers to rest and those who are curious to meet strangers like me and immerse themselves into local culture.
In fact, I am a newcomer in Couchsurfing, but I gained years of experience in hosting travelers by using Airbnb platform, counting about 200 hosting references. Due to couch surfing passion of my girl friend I already hosted a score of couch surfers beside this platform.
For notice: I like both, hosting and surfing!
So: if you wish to stay at my place, please read my profile fully!
I will only accept requests and not just a message spread.
And the most important:
a) Tell me why you want to stay at my place/meet me and not somewhere/one else
b) What you want to explore in this region
c) How long you want to stay.
d) If you find my hidden slogan that´s a "+" for you .-)

Music, Movies, and Books

From Classic to Funk. My favorites are slow Jazz ballades with tenor sax and piano, Spanish guitar, Gipsy, Klazzmer, Irish folk and so much more. I used to play clarinet at low level. My heart is overwhelming while listening to the songs of my younger son and his German newcomer band “steaming animals”.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am not a free of charge hostel provider. If that is, what you search for, use Airbnb and book one of my cozy apartments commercially! And please do not be disappointed, when ever I am not able to host you!
I would love to exchange travelling and live experience, social, cultural and political perceptions while drinking a cup of tasty coffee, preparing meal together, watching the fire place or listening to your stories and your songs.
My place in a small town on the riverbanks of Elbe/Labe is the gateway to start hiking tours into the fabulous untamed nature of the National Park. You shouldn´t miss.
I´ll offer you a separate simple guest room furnitured with a comfortable bed with matress, pillow and blanket. Of course you can use my living room, the kitchen and the bathroom, my tiny garden. I do not share my bed room with any Couchsurfing body.
I don´t mind where you come from, how you look like and which sexus you are. It doesn't matter whether you're black or white, Hispanic or Asian, Western or Eastern, "thoroughbred or mule", young or experienced, gay or straight, you are always welcome and be sheltered as long as you are respectful and a well raised human :-)
