Overview
About Me
I'm passionate about life and curious about the world. This spirit has urged me to travel as much as I can to set foot in new places and explore the things beyond my knowledge. Since high school, I have always been in the state of planning the next adventure. The more I get exposed to the world, the more I understand about myself and treasure my life.
I have a deep love for nature. Most of my adventures involve hiking, camping, and exploring the wild. I hiked most peaks in my home country Vietnam. Nature can heal me and teach me lessons about life. That's why I chose Ithaca, an isolated but peaceful city with forests and gorges for my study in the US. I'm doing a master on human rights and social justice at Cornell University.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I started CS when road-tripping with my friends across the US in summer 2017. We met wonderful hosts along the way who later became our dear friends. I'll never forget the quality time that we had sharing stories, discussing different topics, cooking, playing games, and exploring the areas together. They are just the most amazing part of my adventures.

Music, Movies, and Books
I study mindfulness and read books of Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh. My favorites are Anger and True love. I also like The Outliers, Animal Farm, and Justice: What's the right thing to do?
I listen to old music of the 60s, 70s and 80s often from the Beatles. I also love Norah Jones.
I love watching movies and TV series, especially those with twists that can surprise me because I can often guess the plot. My most favorite movies are Amélie, Spotlight, Mad Max, Interstellar, the Prestige. Top TV series are Breaking Bad, Black Mirrors. I'm also watching GoT.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
When I was 20, I led a team of 9 amateur hikers to trek Fanxipan, the highest peak in Indochina in the coldest winter of 70 years. We walked in snow and ice, which was rare in the tropical region, and summited after 3 days.
Teach, Learn, Share
I love having deep discussions and sharing about life philosophy, new ideas, and adventures.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I take pictures with a film camera. Each photo has its own story of the place and people from different journeys. I will show you my photos and tell you their stories.
I study mindfulness and Buddhism as my philosophy of life. I would love to share what I have learned on the journey to understand myself and find inner peace.
