Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've hosted qite a few couchsurfers, and each one of them was really great. I've traveled through CS with several friends, and we've always met the most amazing people. The project is such a great way to meet friendly people and really get a local feel for the places you visit. I still keep in contact with many of the friends I've made through this site.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've couchsurfed my way through Hawaii and New Zealand. We've also had some amazing people stay with us from British Columbia, NYC, and other various parts of New England. Never have we had a bad experience.

Interests

Outdoorsy stuff like camping, hiking, backpacking, rock climbing, bike riding, etc. Indoorsy stuff like reading, watching movies, writing, listening to music. Fun stuff like going to concerts, dancing, having a few brews with friends, and travelling everywhere!

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: The Princess Bride, Clue
Music: Sigur Ros, Explosions in the sky, Ella Fitzgerald, Louis Armstrong, the Rolling Stones, The Beatles, Jay-Z, Blackalicious, Reggae, and pop songs that lend themselves well to me shakin' it on the dance floor.
Books: The Wind-up Bird Chronicles, The Life of Pi, Blue Like Jazz

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Some of them are:
-Drove across the U.S. several times in a motorhome with my entire family (all 10 of us) and have seen most of the country as I grew up.
-Created a 5 person pyramid on waterskis several times
-Hiked the Na Pali Coast in Hawaii
-Conducted my student teaching in Australia

Teach, Learn, Share

I can share my experiences and try to show that not all Americans are self-absorbed, fast-paced, or (insert any other negative American stereotype). I want to learn all about other people's lives, cultures, faiths, geography, new hobbies, new languages, new instruments, gah... there's so much to learn! I can also do my best to teach kindess, understanding, a better understanding of my faith, English, and some Spanish.

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, Bahamas, Canada, Costa Rica, France, New Zealand, Spain, United States

Countries I’ve Lived In
