About Me
Hello!
My name is Digory. I am from Melbourne, Australia. I will be travelling in Sweden for a conference this June.
I am passionate about the more-than-human world. I have always felt connected to and passionate about animals. I am doing my final year of philosophy in my Bachelor of Arts and I love to discuss concepts of every kind. I am currently very interested in how our conceptualisations of the more-than-human-world influence how we relate to such beings. I am writing my honours thesis on the relationship between time, habit, and change.
I love being outdoors. I love snowboarding, surfing, hiking, etc. I also love to create photos, particularly of landscapes when I am hiking,
I am also really passionate about music. I play the drums, and am a dj. As such, I love to dance and share in the languages of music.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Couchsurfing seems like a wonderful way to meet beautiful people and experience their lives in different places. I saw a quote recently which said "don't be a tourist, be a traveller". Initially I found it vague - at what point is someone a tourist, and not a traveller, or vice versa? Perhaps that vagueness holds some truth nonetheless. Perhaps a distinction that comes to mind. Travelling - to experience places, and tourism - to visit and see places. Thus, couchsurfing seems one way to embrace travel, rather than simply tourism.
