ABOUT ME

I'm trying to be a more giving person all around, meaning being conscious of what and how much I am taking in and making sure I'm producing just as much or more.

PHILOSOPHY

How you find fulfillment in your own life and how I do so in mine can be drastically different. I think finding parallels in those manifestations are the moments we all crave and need to feel alive.

Lately I think the modern universal challenge has to do with being inundated with input, and then finding a way to match that with energy and activism. It's incredibly exhausting. Sometimes I think the only way to find a balance to unplug every so often (probably more often than I actually do).

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have surfed but never hosted, though am excited to return the favor by allowing use of my fold out couch.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Has always been with friends and friends of friends or family, but I'm here to branch out. Destinations have included San Diego CA, Highland Park NJ, New York NY, Bismarck ND, and various couches, tents, and forts in the Twin Cities and other lesser-known local places.

Interesses

Various political/environmental/social campaigns and nonprofit work, but my dream is to get paid to write. Also black tea :).

Output: using my hands, getting dirty, making things while doing those two previous things, animation, giving things, karaoke, being clumsy, amateur drumming, talking in circles and nonsense.

Input: NPR podcasts, maple syrup+coffee, the peanut butter machine at the co-op, Apples to Apples, cooking and burning things while cooking.

Listening and analyzing. I can be logical to a fault, but I like solving problems and offering a fresh perspective. Trying to be the kind of person that people can come to with anything is in keeping with the goal of finding balance.

I hope to learn about just how much I have to teach, and surprise myself in this way.
