Overview
About Me
Some friends call me a renaissance man, I love to try new things. I'm deeply rooted in humanistic things, like food and culture, music, and how people share and exchange these things through travelling.
I work as a graphic designer. I even climbed and trimmed trees for a few years. I love nature and believe that we must preserve and respect nature (which led me to learn about and take care of trees). I also love to cook, not afraid of any recipe, and open to trying new challenging techniques.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm in love with this community! I hope to help out travellers by sharing things about my city. Toronto is a great city once you see past all the construction that's happening. We have a vibrant community that love to spend times in parks, music festivals, and of course bars and clubs to check out. While I don't partake a lot in the club scene, I can offer joining you on other things, like music concerts or bike trips (I love to bike) and most definitely a coffee/tea or drink at a nifty spot.
I'm here to meet people from all over the world! I have always loved learning about people from all over the world, namely the foods that permeate cultures. Music has become a part of cultural exchange also as I've become an amateur musician.
Reach out if you'd like to meet, I'm open to meeting, and even having people over for a dinner or something ^_^
Interests
I have been diving deep into street photography and it's been part of what I want to do when I travel to far flung places away from Toronto. I adore biking, as a second generation Dutch person, it's in my blood. I definitely think that if you are in Toronto in the warmer months, biking is the absolute best way to get around, just please be careful! Some other interests are quite nerdy, I love video games. I love to read and learn about things like astronomy, health sciences, biology and animals.

Music, Movies, and Books
I really like many different types of music, as I mentioned above, I love classical, Debussy, Prokofiev, Shostakovich, Tchaikovsky, Mozart, Berlioz, Bartok, Fauré, Bach, to name a few. For more contemporary, I love zany music like the B-52s and generally 80s new wave, electro like Agar Agar or Superpitcher. My music interests generally come from wistful/dreamy harmony.
Movies, I don't get into tons of movies, but the latest movie I loved was "The Woman King" pretty open though in this respect of what I watch.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I decided in 2020, during the pandemic, to start learning the flute and began following a dream I've always had to play a musical instrument. I haven't looked back and music has changed my life.
Teach, Learn, Share
People take animals for granted, whether that is the dog you or your neighbour walks, or the spider in the corner in your house. They all live very complex lives that we cannot judge, nor can we perceive in complete understanding. Treat all living things with respect and honour and you will be treated the same in return.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share my space, but not for overnight stays. I'm happy to make dinner and show someone the city or just to meet up for a walk/drink. I make killer bread check out the photos.
