About Me
(Is this all supposed to be in english? Well, I intend to complement with some translations over time, and would very much appreciate opinions)
Hey there!
I've always lived in Brasil and now I've come to Spain to study a bit and see what the mess was all about. I've brought some complaints. Most about you owing them some trees, wildlife and, you know, freedom. But we can discuss that later.
So this is how this profile is gonna work:
In each topic I'll make some jokes. Then you get kinda creeped out and/or exhale somewhat heavily through your nose in a silent aproval to the aforementioned joke.
Then I get to the real required info. Sometimes jokes and info are exposed intermittently, therefore making it harder to avoid the jokes. A somewhat controversial decision and definetely disapproved by the "anti-comedy world syndicate", but hey, fuck those bastards, right?
Aaaaand I'm not hosting atm 'cause the place I'm in is not mine to host. :(
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
So, I just got in Spain to get my Master's Degree in Logic and Philosophy of Science.
I guess I could sign up before, when I was living in Brasil, but I just haven't heard of it then. I'll surely remember to have this resource in hand when traveling through South America, though.
Soooo anywaaaay. New continent, possible new experiences. Let's get this engine hummin', shall we?
(- where da jokes at, pal?
- calm yo' face, we'll get there)
Music, Movies, and Books
[Music:]
I would say I'm more into the prog rock kinda deal, but as soon someone puts "rock" among their music tastes usually Death/Black Metal stuff comes to mind.
Don't get me wrong, there's nothing wrong with Death/Black Metal and such, but my bet is that the Devil would be way more impressed by Bjork and Mike Patton's weird shit.
[Movies:]
I'm two-sided in this subject. I'm really fond of: 1) extremely well thought and structured pieces; and 2) really silly shit.
For example: I really like 2001 as an aesthetic experience and how some characters feel real in some of the Coen brothers' movies, but GOOD LORD do I love some 80's action movies. So good. :')
[Books:]
I basically went from
1) thinking non-theoretical books were lame (not repulsive, you see; just "meh") in reason of those we were obligated to read in school
2) to loving Douglas Adams (well thought sillines? OH YE PLS) and later Tolkien (to say how the books were better and play RPG. "Damn what a cool kid", you say. Get that a lot)
3) to more recently just loving reading and writing some sorts of fiction or (semi-)biographical narratives and seeing poetry slowly grow on me.
In my recent stage, if you have a copy of Walden and/or something by Poe or Lovecraft, we might have a good amount of talking guaranteed.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
In a world that seems to be walking continuosly towards its own demise, I get out of bed.
Like, every day.
Well, almost. I got the flu once. But yeah, the world was still a pile of horse shit.
If you say that's an pessimistic oversimplification used by those that try to make this moment in history sound any more relevant than any other, I'd have to say "Yeah, you got a point there, voice in my head".
And yes, second voice in my head, I see you wanna say something, but wait and don't be rude, we got a questionaire to answer.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm impressively good at not being that good at anything but giving off a feeling that I know what I'm doing.
Seems asymmetrical because I feel that at this moment I might take much more from the experience than I have to offer, but I hope that, as I learn with each encounter, I contribute with the next.
So I guess I could say that, beside some stories, I'll try to always bring my curiosity and interest with me.
Not enough? Well, I guess I'm kinda nice too, but whatevs.
What I Can Share with Hosts
As you surely have been able to see, I bring to the party a sollipsistic and egocentric humour as sharp as a knife that is not actually sharpen that often, but you know it means well.
The knife in the metafor means well, that is. I'm not sure what I mean. I, sometimes, am kind of a fuckface.
But I'm joking, of course.
I'm a fuckface quite frequently.
