Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Before moving to New York City, I hosted regularly. I haven't had the space to do so in New York so I haven't been as active since.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Once, while on the Gulf Coast, a surfer and I made some new friends on the beach and ended up chatting with them until the sun came up the next morning.

Yes, please. Sci-fi and fantasy, of the feminist variety. Octavia Butler especially. Also: Nikki Giovanni, Alice Walker, Jesmyn Ward. I love Nina Simone and country music.

Teach, Learn, Share

Arabic was my first language and I can share some of that. I work as a journalist, and can help with editing or writing critiques.

I'd love to learn more languages, including ASL. I'd also like to learn how to improve my sewing skills.
