About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Travel the world

ABOUT ME

I’m an open minded person. Realizing there is more in life than your own city or country made me want to see the world, experience new things, meet new people and live in other cultures. My studies made me an observer of people and how they interact. Getting to know why people do what they do is very interesting to me. That is why I like to get to know new people with new visions that will probably change my vision on things in some ways. Besides that I’m into photography. I’m not professional but it’s a self-taught hobby. I love the idea that you can capture a moment that will never be captured by anyone else. Another big hobby of mine is soccer (actively and passively). I’ve played soccer as long as I can remember and love everything about this sport. In general I’m a great sports fan. In general I just like to enjoy live, I really can enjoy the little things in live; a good meal, hanging out with friends, party, being alone and enjoying the quiet,…

PHILOSOPHY

Γνωθι σεαυτον, know yourself. If you don’t know yourself,f how can you know others or anything for that matter. The question is; what is it that you know? The only way to know that is to interact with new people, put yourself in new situations, exchange ideas, learn from the world.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Since I graduated from high school I had the dream to travel the world. I went travelling by myself 3 years ago. And couchsurfing was a great experience. Now I am travelling again but this time with my girlfriend. We will be backpacking through South- Central Amerika and maybe Asia. We hope to make this trip with help from you guys, the couch surfers. I think it can only benefit ouer goals to stay with locals and fellow travelers. When we get back we also wanna host if possible.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

As I stated above we haven’t had a lot of experience with CS. A couple of my friends have surfed and also hosted, so I’ve met a couple of couchsurfers and that was fun. Then on my first trip I got some couchsurfing experience and it was really nice. I was not able to host when I got back because I didn't have my own place.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

There are a lot of things but the one that stood out was when I went travelling in Chalkdiki, the region where my grandfather grew up and lived before he came to Belgium. I backpacked on my own with a tent, slept on the beaches, woke up because the sun was setting, with the noise of the sea in the background. It was a great experience to travel alone and just enjoy the wonders of nature.

My first travel alone was amazing. South America will be forever in my heart. That's also the reason why we are going back.

I worked for 3 months in an orphanage in Peru. Life changing experience.
