About Me

Easy-going and outgoing, excited to visit new places and to meet new friends and to get to know different cultures. Student of history among other things. Interested in many different things in general. I like to watch films, read (or listen to) books, walk a lot and (unfortunately) talk quite a lot too :)
I am open-minded and willing to understand other points of view, as long as they are respectful of the dignity and freedom of the other people. In other words , I can not have an open-mind for racism or other similar forms of hatred and undemocratic ideas.
Now, if you go on at greater length, I should say that I really find traveling awesome (say something that we didn't know! COME-ON!) and meeting travelers in my city sort of reversed travel. You know what I mean... like traveling through the experience of the other persons.

Given my abstract ways of expressing myself, I find it better to take a break here.

Drop a line or two or more to contact further... the best introductions (in the CS) naturally start with just a message, so go on... Say something anyway ;)

Oh well... then... That's (not) All Folks!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

It's a great opportunity to make new friends and know better the culture of the place that i visit.
A whole new world! Why else?
Can I hang-up now? No... OK, then, let's keep going on.

Honestly, CS is not the only way to meet new traveling friends and locals while you travel, but I think the idea itself is a great improvement in this direction, given the fact that we can contact in a more organized way.
Somehow, the first time that I heard about it was totally unexpected and also, was around the time that I was going to travel (in Lebanon), so my first contact with CS was really a game changer for me, since I connected with people that became my friends, I got loads of help in the form of advise from many members and I got hooked on the feeling that I am not so much of a stranger in this country, rather a newbie.

Also, the idea that you (I) can share your (my) time, place, experience, travel with new companions is really exciting. Just to clarify, not a CS monopoly the idea itself, as the above it's kind of synonym with hospitality [philoxenia in Greek], but CS gave an innovative way to do it.

Music, Movies, and Books

For the sake of difference with the rest of my profile, I will keep it short!
Yeah, I totally mean it. Just look:

I am up to many different kinds of music. Pop, Rock, post-rock, some folk, blue grass too and almost always (it is always) film's soundtracks.

About the same with movies. Just to be a nice one and i will watch it. From Star Wars to Casablanca.

About the books i have not much too say... just i love them!

No need to start cataloguing stuff here,
but... but...I am keenly interested to talk about music, films and books more!
Let's talk! suggest to me or ask about!
How this good ole saying goes? hmmm...
Oh, yes! If you see something, say something! Will you? :P
[in which case say it with a message or I won't hear it, even if we are ''together in electric dreams'' ]
You see? I can do it! neat and tidy.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Too many to list.... hahaha
Just I'm not good at listing things...

Well, If I absolutely have to say one... So be it...
The day that I finally started to travel... I had totally no idea where exactly I was going... what I was going to do...for the record, It was Belgrade and Sarajevo. It was just love at first sight.

What I always remember from any shorter or longer travel that I have done is the new friends, the fun time, the strolls and drinks, the conversations even without comprehend each other and the sense that all the traveler (no matter they reason why), we share something more in common.

And yet! I still feel the excitement of those days every time that I leave home (most of the time the principle ''no-idea'' still holds effectively).

Teach, Learn, Share

I would be great the idea of language exchange like Greek or English for Spanish, French, Turkish, Arabic...
or anything else! I am always eager to learn new languages, even if I am more excited than effective, but still getting to learn even few elementary things about a new language brings you closer to a different culture and people. By the way, I would be happy to teach Greek or English anyway, since I like the language learning, I enjoy also to teach those languages to friends, somehow informally anyway.

Also, about teaching, I am sure about one thing: I can show you how to cook. I have good experience in cooking (at home :) and I am very adventurous regarding my culinary tries. Well, most of the time ends up good for everyone (luckily)! I can teach you how to cook some common or more unusual recipes that I mostly find interesting and possibly even some other that I have never tried myself... so I will be kind of randomly inspired for it.

What I would like to learn... Well, beyond learning great truths or simple deep realities, I would like to learn to swim better (If I really know how to swim at all), perhaps to wrestle and any other possible athletic activity, that I can physically achieve.

I would really like to share experiences and stories, about travels that happened, travels that will, and those that did not or any other topic (totally random selection :) . In any case, I feel like sharing experiences makes us understand each other and the world easier, kind of fast track learning in fields that we didn't have access before.

Finally, I can share my books and music, as a quite eager reader, I usually need also music to concentrate so yeah... I can do that too!

For any other good idea on Teaching, Learning, Sharing, please just drop a message, would be good to know.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Sharing is caring as the old saying going, so i am more than eager [perhaps excited?] to hear suggestions for sharing with my host(s) and friends. Surely, sharing the grocery, gas and similar expenses, as well as contributing to the households tidying up and cleanness, I would be greatly happy to have the chance to cook and try together some nice Greek dishes (or any other really, it doesn't matter hehhehe). I am also good at coffee making, yes even at home! Good at making sweet and so on... Am I good at making cocktails too? :P

Beyond those things, we can share great time together, have fun (or even thoughtful moments), we can share our culture and language and... and... and share new experiences! did I say that already?
