Overview
About Me
Hi!!! My name is Dimitris and I'm currently a Mechanical Engineering student at University of Southampton. I was born and raised in Chios an island close to Turkey. It's the only place in the world where natural mastic gum grows. I enjoy nice landscapes close to the sea and that's the main reason why enjoy sailing so much. I listen to a lot of music different styles from different cultures.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I believe that travelling is one of the most significant learning experiences in somebody's life. For that reason I believe that when you travel you have to experience the life through the eyes of a local. Couchsurfing offers this opportunity. Of course it's a very good way to meet new people and establish lifelong friendships.

Sailing, Music, Longboarding (potentially surfing I would like to try out), Photography, Swimming, Society topics, Engineering, Motorcycles (Cafe racers), Reading, Local food tasting :P with a beer would be nice.

Music, Movies, and Books
OUUUUFFFF.... that's a tough one.
Music: BRMC, QOTSA, Bob Marley, Gorillaz (Blur), Dead Can Dance, Massive Attack, UNKLE, Funkadelic, The Brian Jonestown Massacre and it goes on forever... Pretty much everything from rock (garage, psychedelic, classic), electronic (trip-hop and all the rest), reggae and I have some aces on my sleeve from greek rebetiko and music from other countries.
Books: Zen and the art of Motorcycle Maintenance (must read), Listen Little Man for sure those are the top ones among many.. books to make you think.
Movies: Fight Club (who doesn't like this movie), Memento, Leon, La Haine, The Machinist, A Clockwork Orange, Donnie Darko, V for vendetta, Lock stock and two smoking barrels and many more..
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Well, I'm free to do a lot of things. I cannot say that there is one special thing that I have accomplished. I have participated to a lot of regattas in Greece so pretty much I know a lot of the islands in the Aegean sea. I'm finishing the university the following year (it took a lot of effort). I played piano to concerts when I was young but now I don't play that much or at all.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach Greek (hard job), English. I can teach as well some piano lesson but really the basic lessons. Discuss issues that matter and pretty much open to help with anything wherever I think I could be of use.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Food, Valuable time and fun I pretty much believe those are the things that matter in life. I also like to bring a little, something... from the island that I come from but of course there is a clue in this profile.
