Why I’m on Couchsurfing

We like traveling, meeting new people and acquiring new customs and observe the customs that people have around the world. Many years since I haven't traveled (marriage, relocation etc) and I miss it. My wife is learning English and it would be a great experience to have people here from other countries or travel to theirs. We like discussions, good food, wandering in the city, showing you stuff about our city.

Music, Movies, and Books

We like to watch with my wife romantic movies, as well as adventurous movies in our home theater.
We read romantic books, as for music we like to listen all kinds of music from all over the world that has to say something about the country, mentality and behavior of the people of this country.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I joined the army I joined the Special Forces and became a paratrooper, so I have jumped out of airplanes and helicopters several times in my life and that was a great experience.

Teach, Learn, Share

1. Information about my city Karditsa and the picturesque Lake Plastiras
2. Taste the local cuisine, because my wife is an excellent cook, she also cooks international cuisine.
3. Travel around, sightseeing and tour within the city of Karditsa or around the Lake Plastiras.

What I Can Share with Hosts

1. Teach them with my wife to learn the basics in climbing as well as to do their first climbing(indoor wall), flying fox and other extreme activities, while they are visiting for FREE.

Accommodation is debatable as long as you respect the rules of the house, otherwise we will help you find room in the oldest hotel of the city, with an exquisite bar - restaurant, which organizes theme nights(sushi nights, Peruvian dinners etc).
There is space only for one person, you will have your own WC.
We have a cat(hope you are not allergic)
Smoking is allowed ONLY in the balcony.
Not allowed to use shoes in the house, only slippers(we have many pairs, unless you have yours).
Unfortunately extra room there isn't one, so sofa will be your bed, but what a sofa, HUGE.

Karditsa is not a capital city, so there are no subways, trams, buses(only a few lines which go to the villages and back). We use bikes as a transportation mean, which can take you everywhere in the city within 20-30 minutes, even with walking would this be possible and it is a nice walk, especially in the evening or night. Otherwise we could rent a car(its cheap here, split the expenses) and travel around the Lake of Plastiras(roughly 80 km), to see the artificial dam, the scenery, the nice resorts with the great food around the lake etc
