Overview
About Me
A Jordanian-Palestinian gal that somehow managed to convince her parents to ship her off to Germany at 19. What could go wrong!
Apparently nothing because here I still am, 7 years later. Tied to a 9-5 job that I actually enjoy and managed to make a life for myself that I’m proud of. My aim is to make it a life that I don’t seek escape from, but rather make it so full that holidays and vacations feel like the cherry on top and not the whole cake. In short, I’m trying to find the beauty in the mundane.
I love learning and taking up new hobbies and as it turns out I love dropping them even more. My mom always says that I lose myself in a hundred mazes and I can’t say she’s wrong there :’) I’m trying to control my ever shifting interest in things and be consistent long enough to see progress. If you have any tips for managing 563 interests at once, please do share!
If I did believe in past lives, I'm pretty sure I would've been a cat. Not only because I love to sleep so much, but also because I relate to the independence and curiosity that they possess. Oh and their playfulness! Unlike cats, I don't bite ;)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
As amazing as it is to visit new places, I found that my enjoyment of travelling doesn’t come from what I see but rather from who I meet and what I experience with them.
I'm relatively new to Freiburg and sometimes I still feel like a tourist here and would love to welcome people into my house to explore more of what the city has to offer together.
Interests
Growing up, reading was my biggest source of exploration and discovery. I would sit in class and daydream of the characters lives and wish that one day I would embark on adventures of my own. I enjoy reading a variety of books but my favorites are non-fiction and sci-fi.
I've started learning the violin 1 year ago and it's proving to be a harder task than I anticipated. Nevertheless, I'm enjoying the process and I hope that one day I'll be able to play Requiem for a Dream!

Chased after the people who robbed me to get my money back. We'll have to meet to tell you how it ended up ;)
What I Can Share with Hosts

Oh, and the one Arabic dish that I can cook. A rough translation is "burned fingers" but I promise no humans are harmed in the process!
