Music, Movies, and Books

I could name you my favourite authors, since there are too many to mention if I have to make a list of the books I've read. Fyodor Dostoevsky, Boris Pasternak, Lev Tolstoy, Mikhail Lermontov, Alexander Pushkin, Thomas Bernhard, Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, Die Brueder Grimm (I'm a child at heart), Thomas Mann, George Sand, Victor Hugo, Alexandre Dumas, Joseph Konrad, Franz Kafka, Milan Kundera, Leonardo Sciascia, and others I forgot to mention.

As for Musik, ohhh, this will be a very long list. Primarily I love almost all forms of classical music, from Salon music (Fritz Kreisler), concertos, symphonies, solo piano, cello and violin works, sonatas, partitas, prelude and fugues, and many more. I have a strong affinity with the Romantic Period, especially with Chopin, Schumann, Brahms, Wagner, Liszt, and late romantic like Skryabin, Rachmaninov. Then the Baroque period, I love Bach above all. When I feel not so emotional, I could play Bach all day for many hours non stop. For the classical period, I like it less as I grew older, except for Mozart's Operas and Singspiels, and Beethovoen's later Sonatas and works (towards the last years of his life). Wagner, I think he is the greatest when it comes to opera. I would go to different cities in Bavaria, and Austria, just to see his operas, and spending most of my money on expensive seats. We only live once, and therefore we must enjoy and do what we love most to the fullest as if it's the last day of our lives, because we might not have another opportunity. Life is so unpredictable. The only certainty about life, is death.

As for Film. I mostly like scientific, archeological, historical, artistic, culinary, forensic science, aircrash investigation documentaries. These are the films that excite me most. As for feature films, I would watch anything worth watching. :)
