About Me

Hello! I'm Dinda and I’ve recently moved to Bali for good. I work as an HR for a Swedish product dev company. I’ve been a remote worker for more than 5 years! I enjoy traveling so I would like to make friends while I’m away from home, especially when I get to learn new cultures.

I studied psychology and I'm into nature. I also appreciate art and enjoy creating embroidery pieces. I'm a part-time counselor in a local mental health platform where anyone can share about their psychological conditions for free.

I can say that I'm a pretty laid-back person who can adapt easily to new environments. 2 values in life that I consider important: respect and freedom.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

1. I like meeting new people and learning their cultures. Yes, it's amazing to see the nature's wonder when you travel, but the culture itself is also intriguing (and could often lead to something meaningful).

2. I work remotely so maybe I can find other fellow remote workers here.

3. To find friends to explore the area with, as I mostly travel by myself.

Interests

I like taking pictures, learning new cultures, trying out new things, diving into the unknowns, in short—a good company :D

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: I listen to many kind of genres (mostly indie), alternative rock, folk, post-rock. Bands that I put on repeat lately: The Neighbourhood, Cigarettes After Sex, The Paper Kites, Wild, Amber Run, Half Moon Run, even Lorde.

TV/Netflix Shows I enjoy: Game of Thrones, Money Heist, Stranger Things, The Umbrella Academy, Black Mirror, South Park, BoJack Horseman.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Had my final research about a controversial topic in Indo society: Islamic boarding school aimed for transgenders, even after my supervisor and lecturers told me to drop the topic—I pushed through and it turned out to be successful. It was quite rewarding because more people started to realize that everyone needs to be respected and loved.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you basic Bahasa, basic embroidery if I have my kit, and anything you need help with regarding serious/boring stuff like recruitment process (even CV review :p)

I'll share my not-so-much experience about traveling, my country, and I can drive you around on a motorbike (woohoo!)

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, China, Denmark, Finland, Hong Kong, Japan, Malaysia, New Zealand, Norway, Philippines, Singapore, Sweden, Taiwan, Tanzania, Thailand, United States, Viet Nam

Countries I’ve Lived In
