I spent the last two years working in Singapore in the military and now I’m studying in Amsterdam. I’m looking to travel to gain new perspectives and experiences with interesting individuals.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I believe in forming genuine connections with strangers. The possibilities are endless and spontaneous adventures await. To me Couch Surfing is like the good old days when you show hospitality to strangers. It is truly a good way to get to know people and learn about local culture! I’m still new on here but I hope to make lifelong friends.

Interests

I like road trips. The idea of never staying in one place, always moving appeals to me. I plan to live in a van in the future. I enjoy learning about world history. The past really intrigues me. I also enjoy skate boarding and surfing. I am very open to trying new activities as each is a memory to hold. Most of all l believe, happiness is only real when shared so I love hanging out with friends

Music, Movies, and Books

I’m really into vinyl classic rock. Nothing like some good tunes and the open road to keep me happy. My dad gave me his ticket to watch Journey in concert when I was 14 and it has been my favourite band ever since. My all time favourite movie is Into the Wild. I liked Christopher McCandless’ search for truth on his journey. I too am searching for my own truth. I’m big on classic literature too. Not afraid to read Jane Austen all day.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I represented my country, Singapore, at the 2017 Southeast Asian Games in Kuala Lumpur for Track and Field. It was an amazing experience. I have wonderful stories and videos about the competition. It was a special moment for me as I love to run.

Teach, Learn, Share

I hope to learn more about different cultures and ways of life. I can’t wait to exchange cool stories about our travels. I am still a newbie when it comes to bagpacking but what I lack in experience I make up with enthusiasm. I hope to share more about Singapore and am also well travelled in the Southeast Asia region.

What I Can Share with Hosts

The unique perspectives of a starry eyed youth overflowing with idealism. I would say I am more an idealistic than practical, more of a dreamer than a realist. My own version of Peter Pan. I hope that this energy is something I can pass around. Sometimes we all need a reminder to be young and live life, regardless of age.
