About Me
Hi everyone! I'm Vicky, Taiwanese descendant born and raised in Argentina. I studied and worked in the US for 10 years, took a year off and now relocated back to Argentina.
As to what kind of person I am, I'd say that it mostly depends on you. Even though I think that I'm a person who is very caring, curious and open, you might not think so. I've heard various contradicting comments about me, such as "you are always smiling" vs. "you are always very serious", "you can't stop talking!" vs. "why don't you talk much?", and "you are very approachable" vs. "In the beginning, I was slightly scared to talk to you"... Believe it or not, all of these comments were said by my best friends, SO, the conclusion is that you'll have to judge me by yourself ^_^ (if u believe in typology, just my hypothesis, the variety of perceptions that people have about me might be caused by my personality traits-- I'm about 65-75% introvert, but I'm about 50% in all of the other traits, i.e., perception, judgment, thinking, feeling, sensing and intuition).
My goals in life is very simple: I want to enjoy life (by doing things that I like, such as being with my family and friends), have no regrets and to get to know the world where I'll spend my short life (the people, the place, etc.). There is always something interesting going on and new opportunities opening up. For many people, my goal in life is too simple and not ambitious enough, what do you think?
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To get to know others' stories and to really experience the life and culture of the places that I visit. I've been hosted in Kobe, Kyoto and Seoul and met lots of interesting people in Yokohama, Hakodate and Indiana. So far, I've enjoyed spending time with every single couchsurfer.
Interests
Like everyone here, I LOVE traveling. However, I rather stay in a country for a long time than just a few days or weeks, cause I not only like to visit the touristic places, but I also like to get to know the place's people, culture and the local places and events that people go to.
I LOVE walking. When I go out, I usually walk all of my friends back to their apartment. During my internship in Taiwan, I used to walk 2+ hours back to the dorm, where I got to try a lot of the food stands in Taipei and find really good stuffs~ I just love walking cause that's the only way that, I believe, one can get to know a place and stop to appreciate the beauty of even small things, such as a squirrel eating a nut or the shape of a flower.
I also LOVE trying new food, especially desserts. However, at the moment I'm still not able to try certain stuffs; e.g., I don't think that I've got the courage to eat something that is still alive and certain beings and parts such as insects, dogs, cats, tongues and eyes.
I like trying out new things, such as skydiving (you gotta try it if you haven't yet!) and attending an overnight pagan festival. However, I refuse to participate in hunting for entertainment, ridiculing others or throwing/wasting food.
