About Me

Hey, I'm Diogo, I'm 27 years old and between travels I'm a cybersecurity engineer.

I love adventure and nature, I consider my self a happy and friendly person. I'm fascinated to understand how the world works and how have we as a species are where we are, if I had to choose a dream would probably be to witness life in different moments in history.

In 2019/2020 I did a year of travels with my girlfriend Mariana, she is a biologist in love with all types of animals. During this time in Asia we realize our passion for traveling is much more than seeing pretty views, the thing that has the biggest impact and leaves the most memories are people.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've always heard wonders of CouchSurfing, my friends who have tried say it's the best way to visit a country, say it's where they got to know some wonderfull people that otherwise the wouldn't have. It's something I've been wanting to do for a couple of years now, can't wait to make some awesome travel stories.

When I get my first house I'm eager to host people from all around the world.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music, well... I've had some phases but I always seem to come back to Indie Rock, but I like to hear a bit of everything.
Movies, here you got me, I've watched hundreds of movies, I am, and please don't judge me, the kind of person who watches some movies over and over again (way to many times, if I'm being honest). I thing my all time favorite is "Mr. Nobody", "Fight Club" and "The Kings of Summer" are up there as well. If there's a movie I would love to forget so I could watch it again it would be "Memento".
I'm not much of a reader but really enjoy books that tech me something, about science, human behavior and even society. Sometimes I have to take breaks from this types of books and then I'm open to science fiction stores.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

If there is one thing I've done that had me completely speechless was skydiving, to this day I can't explain how amazing of a felling it was, complete freedom.

Recently I hitchhiked alone from Portugal to Sweden as a Kind of challenge to myself. It was an amazing experience and met some really interesting and fun people!
