Overview
About Me
Heeey! I finished my degree in Chemistry, got a job working in a school, and since then I've got the travel bug...the school holidays are just too tempting., therefore, making the most of it by taking some time out travelling in Africa, Europe and Thailand. So far, I've always been travelling via a mix of independent travel / tours covering large distances in small amount of time, which was awesome, but now it's come to the point where I want to travel the world on a slower pace, and get to know countries deeper, far beyond the tourist trail. I live in a rural part of North Wales, surrounded by mountains and sea which makes me spoilt for choice when it comes to outdoor activities, especially hiking!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Hoping to meet fellow travellers and locals, sharing experiences and gaining an insight into the local area and culture. Also hoping to make new friends around the whole globe.
Interests
I consider myself a very active sports person that enjoys venturing on an adventure, from hiking in the mountains to exploring waterfalls/lakes/caves to adrenaline fuelled activities including water sports. After a busy day of activities, i enjoy the occasional night out socialising in bars and nightclubs with friends, and listening to music/live bands. I love getting out and about, exploring secluded beaches whilst road tripping, stopping in various places to take photos of some stunning scenery.

Music, Movies, and Books
Varied taste in music depending on current mood. Favourite movies for the long bus journeys include the Lord of the Rings trilogy, Hobbit, and the inbetweeners movie to name a few. Breaking bad, prison break, game of thrones, and westworld are my favourite series shows at the moment. I don't really have a favourite book, although I'm up for reading any sort of crime/thriller sort of book.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Hmmm...it's tough to single out one thing, but up there has got to be when I white water rafted down the Zambezi river underneath Victoria falls, Zambia, crossing numerous grade 5 rapids. Having never really done white water rafting before, and flipping over three times, it was relatively proud of myself having survived it ha!
On another note, I've been volunteering in the local community since I was 16 yrs old, working with children/adults from a range of backgrounds.
Teach, Learn, Share
Most people I've met whilst travelling either don't know that Wales exist or have their own language, or people are always surprised to see Welsh still spoken today, therefore if you're interested in learning a new language, which is totally different to any other (as I'm told), then i'm sure we can sort something out!
I'm always amazed to learn about people's different cultures and way of life, so i'd love to learn more about that.
Reading from guidebooks are great, although nothing beats sharing personal experience with friends over beers, and since I've travelled a few countries so far, I'd like to think that I can share a few of those experiences and stories if you're interested.
