ABOUT ME
A bit about me, I am something of an enigma wrapped in a nutshell, tossed in an abyss on the edge of the known universe. In other words, I am definitely something other than ordinary and it takes time to really get to know everything about me. I can promise if you take that time though its more than worth it. Prefer people who know it takes true desire to know who someone is and that we as people are vast and different, no matter how similar we may seem.
I have been traveling around since I was 16, bouncing from one place to the next every 3-6 months and so far its been an amazing journey. Every corner of the US has been touched, ok well other than Hawaii (if you count that as a corner). The most recent adventures have taken me to southeast Alaska, Vancouver, BC, Canada, Central Vermont where I stayed on a mountain a mile's hike into the wilderness from a small town and finally Asheville NC where I owned and operated a succesful cafe for 4 years and met my partner. My life has been blessed and I am joyful everyday I am allowed to experience more of it.
Generally I am a very upbeat, optimistic person, glass not just half full, but brimming over. Love to laugh and having others around me enjoying themselves. Have been cooking my whole life (since I was 4) and will be happy to cook for anyone at anytime even if you don't ask. Its one of those things I do well and like to do for others. Also love to dance, sing, write, play/create music, and pretty much anything else in the creative spectrum. Animals are also a great love of mine, and most tend to love me as well, even ones people say usually don't like other people. A friend of mine who is a animal trainer say's that tells you a lot about a person.
Well I think that about covers it, if you want to know anything feel free to ask. I have always been an open book.
PHILOSOPHY
I try when I can and I can when I try ;-)
smile and the world smiles back
there are no good or bad moments/times/days/weeks/years, its all perception, so perceive wisely :-)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Currently I have not stayed with anyone from here but I have couch surfed using Craigslist before I knew about this site and have had great experiences. Have hosted a number of people when I first moved to Asheville and had a great time getting to know them all!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Last stayed on 2 couches in Vancouver, BC, Canada and had a great time while there. The first place was with a gay married couple who were absolutely great. One of them was a former pastry Chef so we talked a lot about food and different things we liked to do and try out. A lot of wonderful creations came out of that kitchen while I was there. The next was in a bit of a rundown home where 10 people (yes 10, not family) stayed. It was crazy because even though all these people stayed under one roof you still barely ever saw anyone and the house really had no energy. Was kind of depressing (the lack of energy), but all of the roomies were great people and I had some fun times with most of them. Best was when 5 of us chipped in and I did a huge thanksgiving feast which everyone enjoyed. Good times :-)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
There is a spot on the top of the mountain I had stayed that you can see approximately 15 miles out. The sun sets in this beautiful valley and lights the area on fire with color. It was one of the most amazing things I have every seen.
When I was out in Alaska I went out hiking one day and followed this little beaten path. Shortly there after I hoped over a large stream and continued for about 4 miles until I reached this beautiful forest. There was no evidence that anyone had ever stepped foot here. Huge old growth trees covered in an inch or so of moss, mini waterfalls, and amazing energy. Was the most awe inspiring place I ever saw. It was like a forest straight out of a fantasy movie/book. Surreal.
Teach, Learn, Share
I love to teach, absolutely, undeniably, love to teach. Also I love to learn and share. In each moment there is the ability to do all of these and so much warmth comes from these simple pleasures. My favorite things to teach are cooking, martial arts, dance and how to break out of this horrible cycle most people live in each day. Basically learn how to see everything anew and unrestricted by social conventions. As for things I like to learn, well you name it and I probably want to learn about it. I often spend days on end searching through the net learning about new things from sustainable living and building methods to bike building to new cuisines and music.
