About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Writing and Eating

ABOUT ME

I was born in Connecticut-- a state in the US close to New York. My home is surrounded by oak trees and smells of soil and wet leaves. It is a beautiful place to swim in the rich waters, search for mushrooms in the woods, and eat pizza.

I moved to Chicago for 5 years to study and then work. Fed up with an office job, I moved to Viareggio, Italy for one year to cook and write.

In May 2012 I moved to France to start up a food and wine travel service.

It's hard for me to describe my personality since it changes so much. But I'd say that I'm honest, thoughtful, opinionated, and curious. Sometimes I'm really goofy and silly, other times I'm pensive and shy. I like to notice how various people are capable of bringing out these differences!

PHILOSOPHY

Marx / Frankfurt School. I like thinking about capitalism.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

In the past, I have used CS to host travelers in Viareggio, Italy, and I have surfed occasionally when traveling.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

So many beautiful experiences!

My first CS experiences were when I surfed with two great hosts in Bologna, where I dined Bolognese-style in family and at some of the best restaurants of my life! I then hosted several beautiful, vibrant, and amazing people at the villa I lived in-- two fantastic bikers going from Milan to Rome, a kind Polish girl, an affectionate German couple, and then a spunky and loveable American girl. While in Greece I traversed the city by night with a very witty and godlike Grecian; and in Saint-Girones France I hiked the Pyrenees for two days with the world's best chocolate-cake baker. In Ravenna I was surprised with lovely people and an incredible meal. And here in my new home of Viareggio I have met some of my best friends-- Aaron, Triinu and Giacomo (plus all of his friends!). All of this was through CS.

Interests
