About Me

CURRENT MISSION

See what is there.

ABOUT ME

Essen, one of the formerly most industrialised cities of Germanys "Ruhrgebiet", is my current home. With my very long term friend Diana I live there on a former farm estate. No, I don't own it. We're just having an appartment there. This place is a little world on its own: Though living in a rural area wit horses, chicken and beehives around the corner, it takes max 20 minutes by car or motorcycle to reach the city center of Essen, Düsseldorf (the capital of the Bundesland (county) of Northrhine- Westphalia).

I need to laugh pretty often to feed my soul. I don't smoke but enjoy a glass of good wine. Beer is also welcome (hey, I'm German ;-) but I don't mind drinking water from the tab.

History, the personal stories of people and different cultures are motivations to travel as well as impressive or bizzare landscapes are. As a freelance photographer and writer I'm lucky to be able to combine travelling and working. Though it is not always as wonderful as you may think.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I had my first CS Experience with Sixte Val and I believe it was the best start to CS Travelling, yep!

Interests

Photography is definately a subject I'm in to. I like to study points of view, both in photography and life.

Besides that I love travelling remote areas and the Hinterland, discovering places without guidebooks and relying on my senses.

North- and East Africa plus the Mediterranean are my favourite regions.

Oriental sounds mixed with western atrributes is definately cool. Err, and good rock music :-), U2

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Well, crossing the Sahara was quite a thing. Riding my bike down to Kenya to visit a friend for one evening still blows my mind!

Teach, Learn, Share

If you want to upgrade your skills in photography or the languages I speak I'd like to share what I know about it.

I would be happy to improve my knowledge of french and get started with spanish and italian.
