CURRENT MISSION
To explore, reflect, & enjoy
ABOUT ME
Having worked as an engineer in the Bay Area for 10 years, I'm currently on a bit of a traveling-'self discovery' sort of journey right now. Before (while) figuring out what (& where) comes next for me, I'm taking some time to revisit some amazing places I've been, discover new ones, do some reflection, & enjoy my time while doing it. I'd like to think that I'm friendly, sensitive, respectful, & enjoyable to be around. While visiting different places, I try to make the most of seeing what that place is all about, like the people, the culture, the city (or country), the "feel" of a place- I don't like just hanging out inside a ton.
PHILOSOPHY
Respect others, treat others like you'd like to be treated. Enjoy life while you can (you might be here only once).
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
While I'm new to Couchsurfing & currently traveling, when I'm settle down again & would love to host others to meet other travelers & share in some of their extraordinary experiences.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Couch-surfed in Ridgway, Colorado, with Ruth. A very nice person, great house, & nice non-human hosts (beautiful place, too).
Interests
I've somehow managed to spend a significant amount of time outside, in particular climbing up things- walls, ice, mountains, spires, ... It doesn't make a lot of sense, but it's a lot of fun. Hiking is fun, too, as well as seeing some of the typical "must-see" tourist destinations (cities, lakes, oceans, ...). I occasionally engage in quasi-"intellectual" pursuits, like surfing the internet or reading The Onion.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Seeing Iguazu Falls, right behind Victoria Falls in terms of the largest amount of water to drop over a cliff, crash down all around me (there's a walkway that takes one to the very edge of the falls) is a moment I'll never forget- awe-inspiring.
Staggering to the top of El Capitan, in Yosemite, after climbing up the thing with a good friend for 3 solid days, brought a strange sense of relief (the ability to actually walk around where you want sounds absurd, but feels truly amazing when you can't do it for a few days straight), pure joy, & a bit of sadness to be done with the affair (something I'd wanted to do for YEARS).
