About Me

Happy go lucky guy. First thing people tend to notice, and comment on, is my hair. Which makes it easier for me to get to know strangers. Which in turn is great because I love to make new friends.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I travel a lot and what I love most about it is getting to know and learn from people from all walks of life. Met some outstanding people on here.

Interests

Travelling, getting to know new people, learning about the human condition and finding easy solutions to frustrating problems.
I think I'm interested in too many things. Design, languages, cultural traditions and curiosities, neurology, psychology, science, religions, ethics & moral, political ideologies, economics, film making, music (especially Caribbean music), local & global history,

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Not sure how to answer this. In terms of travel experience: Drove a scooter into the Vietnamese town of Dalat and could not stop smiling most of the way.
Or is this about something I did that I'm proud of? I helped a former militant fascist abandon his views via debate. We're still in contact on occasion and it stuck.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love to learn more than I'm able to teach. I'm particularly interested in people with a strong passion for whatever.
Teaching… To be honest I know a thing or two about a lot of things but not a lot about any one thing.
Oh you know how they say (about talking to Germans) don't mention the war. Please feel free to do. I have read a lot on how it lead to the second world war and I do have some family history that might be interesting. I believe strongly in learning from history in order to not repeat it. That being said, I will not bring this topic up myself. As it can be a very touchy subject that I under no circumstances would like to push on anyone.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Recommendations about all the countries I've visit and possibly contact to some people who love hanging out with travellers in many of these countries and some I haven't been to.

You may grab my afro. I do realise how weird this sounds, but funny enough most people I meet ask to do that at some stage :)
