About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To have fun, see the world with my backpack on my back, smile every day, and make at least one person's day every day.

ABOUT ME

I am a really fun, laid-back, happy, and adventurous person. I am very open minded and I am willing to accept a lot of different things, and more than just accept, embrace even better. I love being outdoors, I love anything to do with nature too whether it be hiking, biking, camping, kayaking, diving, and so on.

I absolutely love traveling. I am currently living in Zaragoza, Spain and loving it. I love traveling around the different regions of Spain and meeting people and learning about their customs and cultures.
One time I was backpacking from Albarracín to Orihuela de Tremedal with my friend and my dog, and we were invited into a family party in a town of 100 people. Just because they were interested in hearing what we were possibly doing in their town. I got so many stories to tell, just ask!

I am a person who, when cooking, will not follow the recipe to the T. If it calls for a tablespoon of this, then I just pour and say hmm that looks good xD

I am a person to not sweat the small things, who likes to live on the fly, if you want to go do something and you thought of me to ask, then I'm there (even if I am exhausted and should go to bed haha). I like to rollerblade and I love being at the beach. I love learning new things, because I think its crucial to be able to laugh at yourself and accept that you will make mistakes, and, once you have accepted that, you can do anything = )

I'm currently learning Spanish and Esperanto (ask me if you've never heard of it!) And am connected with the Esperanto community in Spain and also around the world.

PHILOSOPHY

Everything happens for a reason, whether that be for good or bad. I think that if people don't sweat the little things, and smile more often, the world would start becoming a better place. Smile =D

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I love to meet people while traveling. Being hosted is absolutely amazing (I have been hosted with friends before getting my profile, so they don't register on here unfortunately!) If you cannot host me, I usually like to meet up with people and talk. Talking is one of the best ways to learn about cultures and peoples, and that's what I love to do.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have had an AMAZING experience with couchsurfing. I have met people who have been so incredibly nice for no reason other than someone needed a place to stay and they had one. I have also met up with old hosts later on in the years and they are still amazing people. I have never had a bad experience with couchsurfing.

Recently I have been denied for being hosted because I am "not connected with the community and because couch surfing is a give and take experience, not just for freeloaders". I wanted to state here that I am not a freeloader and I do not only want to be hosted because of the free bed. I am looking to meet with locals and to learn about the town from the shoes of someone who lives there.
I also have hosted people before for friends, but that was before they had couch surfing profiles, so as such I could not get their reviews. I have gone to couch surfing meetings (first one in Bilbao, Spain, and recently in Split, Croatia), so I wanted to just say, that I AM part of the community. Thank you for considering me!

Interests

Hiking, backpacking, traveling, chatting, learning new things, learning languages, seeing amazing sights, hiking to said sights, being with my fantastic dog, watching movies, hanging with friends, cooking, building and so on.
I am learning Spanish and Esperanto (as I said earlier). I defend myself pretty well in Spanish and Esperanto I am working on. It is a wonderful way to communicate with people!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have skydove in Alaska; to die for.
I have seen an african sunrise.
I've drank fresh squeezed orange juice at the foot of a waterfall in the Atlas mountains
I spent 3 months in school in Barcelona, Spain
Took a backpacking trip through North Spain.
Took a road trip from my place in Oregon up through Canada, down through wyoming, Idaho, Nevada and California back home.
I have traveled to Turkey and hiked in the mountains of Kapadokia
I have been teaching English in Spain for 2 years.
I have backpacked much of Spain.
I have eaten lunch inside a bodega of a tiny village in Spain without meaning to (Ask about that one).
I've been hosted by couch surfers who made the entire experience of my journey different just because of how amazing they were.
I'm currently backpacking from Santorini, Greece through Albania, Montenegro, Bosnia, Croatia, Slovenia, and ending in Milan, Italy with a flight back to Spain. I'm loving it! I've met some absolutely fantastic people who changed the way I would have experienced their town and I appreciate it more than they know.
