About Me

ABOUT ME

I'm a pretty easy going person, extremely curious and adventurous and I love to do new things and meet new people. I have a dry sense of humor, I love to joke around. I have 2 dogs and 2 cats...but I really wish I had some sheep, a monkey, and maybe a donkey, but my roommate has threatened to leave me if I acquire anymore furry inhabitants. I grew up on a farm so I love the country, the outdoors and all kinds of animals and reptiles. I studied social work, am now pursuing a masters in teaching. I truly believe in the power of human connection with each other and the environment. I also believe strongly in promoting social and economic justice and doing what you can to enhance the quality of life for yourself and those around you. I love to hang out, go on exciting and dangerous adventures, love to curl up with books, dogs and friends, hike around cities and mountains, drink good beer, wear boots and pretend I'm a pirate..and I love lasagna.

PHILOSOPHY

"Learn humility and equality from poverty; and love from your woes."

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

When I traveled to Peru the community of CSers there kidnaped me and stockholm syndrome made me fall in love with them and CSing. My connections with them and this community brought me into the many lives and homes of others when I traveled on to other places and returned home. I love the ethics and principals of this organization and being apart of it.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Every single CSing experience I've had has been amazing, It's communities like this that keep people feeling alive and connected.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Amazing things I've seen, hmm..I saw a wild snake gulp down a wild fish ..in the wild...that was awesome, and in that same area of the Appalachians two wild bears ran past me as i crapped my pants. I also climbed to the top of Huayna Picchu and that was truely amazing. Semuc Champey is the best place in Guatemala. I've also seen more live music shows than I can count and I made it through college by the grace of god.

Teach, Learn, Share

I really believe in the exchange in this CS thing. I love to meet new people and catch glimpses of their perspectives and how they experience life.
