ABOUT ME

Hello, my name is Tom. I have a fascination with history, religion and philosophy as well as architecture and art. I'm a humanist but have also adopted aspects of Buddhism and one of the reasons I'd like to travel is to connect with other people and other Buddhists, sharing experiences. Exploring is my aim, all manner of things.

PHILOSOPHY

A Mixture of Buddhism and Humanism, treat others with kindness. Peace through friendship, friendship through conversation.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I was in Turkey I stayed in a small hotel on the beach front and noticed some local students laying down these net pyramids along the beach. After enquiring about them they told me that they were protecting clutches of turtle eggs. A few days later I woke up early to see the newly hatched turtles ready to crawl to the sea. I helped the students make a trench to guide them to the ocean and watched all of them swim away.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm training to be a Primary teacher with the intention of teaching English abroad. Couchsurfing would be an ideal chance to experience other people and other cultures.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I have a love of debating and discussing things as well as a fairly wide range of history. I'm always interested to hear life stories as well as share my own as I think it's an important way to connect with people.
