ABOUT ME

I'm a lover of the "good times", positive people, good food and beers (preferably american ales or czech pils), old buildings, nature, nice bars and good clubs.
I realized that some of the things I've written on this profile come across as pretentious, but that doesn't mean that I am (I'm not).

I'm currently studying Architectural Conservation in Gothenburg (which is like architecture history but with a more in-depth view of traditional materials and techniques). I also have a degree in classical music, I studied to be a classical clarinetist but gave it up because I got bored with practicing, plus, my passion for old buildings was stronger.
That being said, I still practice and play a lot, both professionally in a couple of wind orchestras and with my band Discoteka Yugostyle!, which plays electrified balkan brass kind of music. We are moderately successful and have traveled to quite a few places for gigs. I also do a bit of DJing.

I love to travel and when I do my main goals are checking out the local architecture, eating local foods and having local beers. This explains my preference towards eastern Europe but I've been to North America a couple of times (loved it) and south east Asia a lot of times (love it too, although sometimes it's more of a visit family-kind of trip than the exploring kind).

Music, Movies, and Books

I love everything Will Ferrell has done! Can talk about his movies for hours. And the Police Academy movies!
I also enjoy danish films, such as those by Susanne Bier.
Historical films with extreme attention to detail, such as "Coco Chanel & Igor Stravinsky", witch recreated the scandalous premiere of Le sacre du printemps just the way I imagined it, really got me hooked.
As for series: the Mighty Boosh is the funniest series ever! I can think of a joke from there and giggle by my self for 10 minutes. Dead serious.

I have a quite broad musical taste, but my favorite genres are 70's soul, 80's disco/electro, "world" music from Kap Verde, Mali and the Balkans and classical, preferably late 19th/early 20th century like Brahms and Sibelius. I also quite recently got into more modern electronic music, so a bit of a newbie on this!
As for books, I love Oscar Wilde but I also enjoy books from antiquity such as Herodotus, Ovidius and Vergilius.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you the importance of keeping your 1950's kitchen in original condition, how to make chocolate shots, and, if you insist, music theory (witch is kinda boring, so I'd rather not)
I want to learn your cooking tricks, ale-knowledge and maybe some historical anecdote from where you're from. If you're a ninja and can handle nun-chucks I *obviously* want you to teach me that.
