ABOUT ME

I grew up in Anchorage, Alaska and moved to Salt Lake City in the fall of 2017. I'm pretty much always up for a beer and interesting conversation. I have an Ikon pass and a pass at Snowbird and ski somewhere in the neighborhood of 70-100 days a year. I enjoy skiing with other people and would be happy to show people around the mountain.

I really like the idea of couchsurfing and I've met some cool folks in the community. My experiences as a host have been overwhelmingly positive.

I am a musical omnivore; I especially enjoy live music. My favorite movie is Barfly. I read a ton; best book I've read recently is Thinking, Fast and Slow by Daniel Kahneman, favorite book ever is The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.

One time I inadvertently re-created Pascal's triangle while calculating probabilities for a board game I was playing. Maybe not amazing, but kind of cool anyway.

I am a dabbler, which is to say that I know a little bit about a lot of things. I could definitely teach someone the basics of cross country or downhill skiing, or backpacking, or (if pressed) first aid. I can also talk semi-intelligently about novels and poetry.

I am trying to learn Spanish and I would love to converse with a native speaker....

Climbing a mountain all by yourself is well and good, but I think human interaction is a core ingredient to good experiences and, ultimately, a good life. If you feel the same way, we'll get along great.
