About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To learn, to grow, and to have my mind blown. To make peace with life having no purpose.
ABOUT ME
I'm generally a pretty happy person. I'll try almost anything once. I like to meet new people and hear about different ways of thinking about things. I love to talk about myself, maybe a little too much, but I love to listen too. I have a young son who is very bright, active, and active. Did I mention he's active? Keeping up with him is a full-time job even when he's in school all day.
PHILOSOPHY
Stop over analyzing. All emotions are beautiful. When you eat, appreciate every last bite. Open your mind, arms, and heart to new people and experiences. We are united in our differences. Ask the next person you see what their passion is. And share your inspiring dream with them. Travel often; getting lost will help you find yourself. Some opportunities only come once, seize them. Life is about the people you meet and the things you create with them. So go out and start creating. Life is short. Live your dream and share your passion.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
So I'm currently new to Couchsurfing, but I've never had a bad review on AirBNB. I'd like to travel and stay with others, but I also have a lot of space at home as well. It's currently being renovated, so while I am open to requests the whole situation is very fluid at the moment and I may or may not have a bed/couch available during the redo.
I would enjoy couchsurfing as a way to meet people and experience local life while making lifetime friends. I enjoy showing off my little part of the world and being allowed to catch glimpses of others. I also enjoy cooking and tour guiding! I have a little boy, so we can accommodate children relatively easily.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've hosted a few surfers in my time, and taken advantage of a few couches in Colorado. I used to host a lot of traveling bands in my basement (when I had one). That was all very informal though, not through a website, just luck and mutual friends.
Interests
I love music. I play the piano, I sing, and I listen to all types of music. I particularly enjoy folk lately. I read a lot, non-fiction, fiction, periodicals, textbooks, anything I can get my hands on, really. And I love traveling. I'm currently working on a plan to let my son and I travel the world together. I'm very interested in history and enjoy exploring the world with a mind towards all the eyes that have seen it before me. Anything can be interesting, really.

Music, Movies, and Books
I read too much, watch too much, listen to too much to be able to keep a current roster.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
When I saw the Northern Lights in Alaska and when I fed wild dolphins and snorkeled the Great Barrier Reef in Australia. There have been many other great moments too, like participating in a Maori ritual in New Zealand, touring Versailles in France, and camping on the side of a mountain in Colorado, so it's hard to pick just a few. I've had many great experiences.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can cook, sing, knit, play piano, garden, decorate, do computer work, and teach a little bit of English. Not the most exciting skill set, but I hope with time to acquire more. I think I can learn just about anything. I've done weaving and sheep shearing, and can do just about anything with a horse. I even cracked a whip and threw a boomerang with relative success. I'd love to learn more languages. You never know when something will come in handy,
What I Can Share with Hosts
Currently renovating my living space, so may or may not be accepting surfers at any given point for a few months. I have a queen size bed in a bedroom that I can set up relatively quickly, but the rest of the house is in a bit of disarray as thing get moved around so we can get things done like replacing the carpet and painting the walls. Eventually I hope to add two more twin beds and a large amount of floor space to what's available, but for the time being that's what I've got!
Our home is out in the country. We are 30-50 minutes from St. Louis, depending if you are going to Laclede's Landing (the Arch/Riverfront/Casino/Busch stadium) or further in to the city. We have a gated property on several wooded acres with a fishing/boating pond. The upstairs is where my parents live and is off-limits. A dog and a cat live upstairs with them. Until the downstairs carpeting is replaced, it should be considered a pet-dander heavy zone and not good for allergies (previous owners kept their animals down there). My son is in elementary school and we still have plenty of toys for kids. We have a climbing mountain outside on fall-resistant turf and he's been asking us for a tree swing lately, so one of those might be up soon. There is an efficiency kitchen downstairs with a fridge, stovetop, microwave, and toaster oven. I don't have a lot of cooking equipment down there, but chances are I can borrow anything you might need from upstairs. You definitely need a vehicle to get around, although we are about ten minutes from a MetroLink station that will take you downtown, through St. Louis, all the way to the airport, and beyond into the Missouri suburbs, and I could give you a lift or two if needed.
