About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Look froward to discovering the signs of Spring, walks with my dog and sharing with friends
ABOUT ME
I live in a beautiful place called Tauranga in New Zealand.
I enjoy the outdoors, being around animals and being outside and active. I lived in the Yukon, Canada for several years, it is a place that touched my heart. I enjoyed several years spending my weekends travelling around rural NZ sleeping in my horse float as my daughter Jess competed nationally at long distance endurance horse racing. I now spend my free time with my partner and our dogs, trialling and exploring the countryside.
PHILOSOPHY
We never stop learning.
It is easy to make decisions when you know your own values.
Be kind to people, & remember to be kind to yourself.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I am excited to become a part of the couchsurfing community. I tried it for the first time in Europe 2013 with my daughter! I am so grateful for this opportunity that expanded my horizons. I meet people who shared their world with me - laughter, shared bread, and new friendships. Let the travel and fun be shared.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Interests
I would like to explore & understand the history & culture of other places around the globe - to be open to what unfolds.

Music, Movies, and Books
movies: International film festival: "Last Dogs of Winter" - a doco about a Kiwi guy who travels to Montreal following his love interest... the love parts, he spots a note on the hostel board "come to Ontario and see polar bears and breed dogs". He goes on a train, chatting to another traveller he is told, "turn back/don't get off the train", but he follows his journey to Chapel, and there he finds his passion, looking after Qimmiq, the Eskimo dog, in a remote region, leading to this movie - a true story. Try a google search with "last dogs of winter costa botes"
Best Exotic Marigold Hotel is great for a laugh.
Books - I am amazed how the human essence transcends the centuries of time. Emily Bronte with Wuthering Heights, and homoeopathic books by John Henry Clarke & Constantine Hering - written in the 1800's, still just as relevant in this century.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Hatching pheasant eggs in an incubator - watched a pheasant chick hatch - it studiously pecked a neat ring from inside to make the opening in the egg, then rattled and stretched till it broke out into the world. Seeing how natures instinct sets us up in life - so amazing.
