关于我
ABOUT ME
Others often consider me a little eccentric in a harmless kind of way, I am generally optimistic and enjoy nothing more than to go to new countries and meet different people. I like to get beyond the tourist circuit, going into different houses, backstreet cafes and pubs, attending parties and just chatting with people to find out how they view the world and life. And I absolutely love trying out new food and drink, and looking 'through the keyhole' visiting different people's houses. I take a particular interest in the Islamic world and the Russian speaking world, and can happily twitter on for hours with people who share my enthusiasm. But I take an interest in other parts of the world, and it is never too late to find out about fresh areas or to add new destinations to my extensive travel list.
There's a lot to see in this world and I am determined to see as much of it as I can, while I can because we can never tell what is around the corner.
PHILOSOPHY
I have strong political and social values, Muslim and internationalist-however none of this gives me superiority or the right to judge others. I value the right of other people to hold different opinions and believe that we all learn from listening to each other. I admire those who work to bring different religions and people closer towards understanding and respect for each other.
When I travel, I particularly like to go to places others would consider dangerous or unusual. My general experience has been that the harder it is to get the visa, the more worthwhile it is visiting.
I set myself high personal standards and always try to treat people with courtesy and respect. This might mean that I sometimes come across as being a bit formal to begin with, however I always think that if there is something you would not do or say in front of a high profile "personality" or close family member-then you don't do it in the presence of a stranger or someone you've just met. Anyway, if I like you it will probably not be too long before you discover the waspish side of my sense of humour!
I am fiercely loyal to friends and family, who have helped me in the past. And if I have to say something about people behind their back, I prefer to say something nice or say nothing at all.

As a regular traveller, I have been hosted or met by some wonderful Couchsurfers and feel fortunate to have met some wonderful friends.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I met people visiting spain and while at university, and have since hosted some wonderful Couchsurfers at my house. I also met with some people visiting algeria . If I am travelling and people contact me using the 'nearby travellers' facility, I will always try to meet if the schedule allows.
I have Couchsurfed or met people in Algeria, , Tunisia, Morocco, Oman, UAE, Portugal, Turkey, France. And I feel that I have only just begun:).

音乐、电影和书籍
Not a huge viewer of movies. Long term favourites would include 'West Side Story', 'Keys', 'A night to remember', 'Billy Elliot', 'Slumdog Millionaire' , 'original sin'and 'Born Free'
Books....too many to list. emile zola, albert camus are probably two of my favourite . I also love cookery books; although more for looking at the photos than actually implementing any of the ideas inside!
教,学,和分享
I am particularly interested in society, current affairs, history (political, social) and life as it is lived by people in the countries I am visiting. I am often more interested in meeting people than in piles of old stones, which I can't understand without referring to the local culture. I hope I can provide more information my country(strengths and weaknesses), whilst learning about other people's countries.
