About Me
CURRENT MISSION
"Set the kinds of goals that will make something of you to achieve them."
ABOUT ME
A little bit rock n roll, a little bit monastic, I'm an audiophile, a kitesurfer, environmental and social activist, and a committed lifelong learner. In most aspects of life I choose quality over quantity. I've lived in Tokyo, Seattle, and many places in Australia. I'm a passionate teacher, innovator and scholar of the Alexander Technique.
PHILOSOPHY
DIY. Life is a journey - your time starts now.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I joined couchsurfing.com whilst in the usa in 2008 and it was superb in helping me experience the country from a more inside perspective. In the past I've hosted many a friend, friend-of-a-friend and vagrant, as well as having enjoyed my share of hospitality too.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
My first couchsurfing trip was a cycle tour up the east coast of Australia in 1997. I stayed with many old, and some long-lost friends, made new friends and stayed with them too.
Interests
I'm curious about ways in which our species might learn to live sustainably on this planet with flair and esprit. At other times i take great pleasure in rearranging the deck chairs, with flair and esprit of course.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
In the 90s I often went windsurfing at sunset off the north shore of Maui, when all the other sailors had gone in. The light bounces psychedelically off the west maui mountains, whilst the odd turtle and shark cruise by. I'd be skimming over the swells on incredibly efficient equipment, reaping the rewards of many years' training to feel at home in such a setting.
Teach, Learn, Share
Teach: Alexander Technique, communication skills, bike maintenance, a broad range of philosophical perspectives, windsurfing, carpentry.
Learn: Cross-cultural idiosyncrasies, camping tricks, new things to cook.
Share: A drink and a smile.
