About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Study as long as possible, work as short as possible, retire as soon as possible, and travel all the time.
ABOUT ME
After moving a lot in the last few years I am back in Zagreb, the place of my undergraduate studies.
Zagreb is a very nice place to visit, though living in it full time is not that great. Something like a zoo. :)
On the serious note, Zagreb has many charms: many old buildings, laid-back atmosphere (just check how many people are sipping coffee for hours in a bar during work hours!), it is not crowded with tourists, it is safe and surprisingly clean... But it is still a provincial city where multiculturalism is reduced to Balkan turbo-folk, pizza&burek, some Chinese restaurants and a few overly-priced and non-authentic Indian restaurants.
As for me, I am trying to make the most out of this cute provincial capital. I am putting through my New Year 2005 resolution and am trying to learn Spanish. Still at the intermediate level, so if you are from Andalucia, Chile or Argentina I will not understand a word you are saying.
I am very busy during the week but on a weekend I can give you a personal tour of Zagreb. History is my fetish so I was told I make an interesting tour guide. If you are into gay scene, I can show you around. Though the gay scene has tripled since I studied here: up from 1 to 3 bars. :)
For other things and different arrangements please send a message. :)
PHILOSOPHY
If you read Marx's Early works, Sen's Development as Freedom or Rawls' Theory of Justice you'll get a good idea about my philosophical standpoint.

Music, Movies, and Books
80s music; pop&rock; plays by Ibsen and Shaw and historical/political novels, above all Mario Vargas Llosa. I might not like his politics, but the man is a genious!
I also enjoy a good musical. Out of those less well known I strongly recommend Bloodbrothers.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Jumped the highest bungee jump in Asia! 160m is really high!
Teach, Learn, Share
I can try to teach you a few words of Croatian (or Serbo-Croatian as it was once called), but it is a very difficult language. In general I would say that people whose native languages do not have a declination of nouns (e.g. English, French, Spanish...) should not bother learning Croatian. It really is difficult. Even our prime minister does not speak it and the worst thing is I am not making it up. He really struggles with it.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I am well traveled and always enjoy sharing backpacker stories. Normally and time permitting I also try to "prepare" for the country I'm visiting so I am looking forward to discussing these things with my hosts.
