Overview
About Me
I grew in Costa Rica, and did not leave until I was in my early 20s, when I went to the US for gradschool. I stayed for over a decade, and returned home a few years back. I am a mathematician by training, a college professor by trade. Recently, my sweetie and I bought a house in the mountains here in CR.
A some years ago I was described by an older colleague as "a loquacious, headstrong, overeducated man, with the unpleasant habit of seldom being wrong". I am not sure if he meant it as a compliment or as an insult, or a little bit of both. I guess you'd have to judge by yourself
PS: I am actually about 20 km from downtown San José, in a somewhat rural area, called Cascajal de Coronado.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Well, I wish at some point in my life I'll have more opportunity to travel. And in the mean time, I may help people with more luck than me who are around my place.
Interests
Interests as in hobbies? I am an amateur linguist and language enthusiast, I like reading, and try to write stories from time to time, and in the last year, I have started doing Bonsai.
