About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To see it all

ABOUT ME

I recently decided it would be a wise idea to leave my soul-sapping desk job in Florida, pack up my belongings and savings, and make the long journey west to join a friend of mine in Los Angeles, if for no other reason than to simply do something.

Still new to the whole throwing caution to the wind thing but I'm hoping it goes well.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Just getting started I'm afraid, as I've only surfed on the couches of friends and friends of friends. Through CS I hope to see more of the world, meet unique and interesting people, and eventually host some myself.

Interests

After having my childhood dream of architecture rudely squashed by AutoCAD and its infinite tedium, I took an interest in writing, more specifically writing for film.

I've also developed a real thirst for live music after never even going to a concert until my freshman year of college. I've driven hundreds (and hundreds) of miles just to see bands I love that never play Florida.

And I'm a pretty big sports fan. Mostly football and baseball, but I can get caught up in a basketball, hockey, or soccer game as well despite my limited knowledge of teams and players.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Crystal Castles, Arcade Fire, Metric, Interpol, The Killers, AFI, The Strokes, Rx Bandits, La Roux, Franz Ferdinand, it goes on... kind of "mainstream" I guess but I like to think I'm pretty open.

Movies: Always hard to pick a favorite, but mine is probably Spike Jonze and Charlie Kaufman's Adaptation. Brutally witty and alarmingly honest.

Books: House of Leaves, Into the Wild, and The Great Gatsby among an odd assortment.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Sitting on the porch of a small inn at the foot of a Costa Rican mountainside blanketed in mist and buzzing with hummingbirds.

Coachella 2011, which was an absolute blast.
