Overview
About Me
I'm your regular old South African traveling the world, writing code, and taking good pictures of the people I meet and the places I see.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
People, that's truly it. Usually up for sharing a good time and even taking snapshots of memories and typically wanting to know more about the rest of the world regardless of culture, tribe, religion, or political standing. Always something to learn from everybody.
Plus I'm your man in South Africa. Currently more a nomad for the time being but should be back for good during 2018.
Interests
For a long time I've not had much of interest in photography, but this was a bug that bit me at the end of 2016. So far I'm loving it and even looking to move out of code to do more of it. Post mostly on VSCO, because it's filled with beautiful pictures. https://djngoma.vsco.co would where I try to express myself.
Apart from that the one thing I find myself doing a lot is going to random events to meet with different people. Typically so if there is a person in another field I like to connect people up in order to start new possibilities in a variety of ways.
Now as for running, I had 3 surgeries in the past that stop me from doing any form of contact sports, so I literally run away from my problems. Been doing it ever since 2012.
If humor is an interests, it's usually littered in conversations we would have.
- photography
- running
- reading
- networking
- software engineering
Music, Movies, and Books
Generally when it comes to music I'm more of a pop rap listener. And due to my South African upbringing I also typically listen to Deep House, Afro House, and Kwaito.
In terms of movies, generally a fan of thrillers. Don't have a particular favorite movie but thrillers generally keep me in suspense.
As for reading, I'm more keen on human psychology and just how the brain works.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Touch typing. I don't why I would say it's amazing, but just the ability to type without looking at your keyboard is somewhat of a superpower I'm glad I self taught myself even though it was in my early 20s.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm a treasure trove when it comes to general knowledge, even though I know it doesn't help that much in real life. Apart from that, I try as much to fail a lot because more can be learnt from mistakes than successes.
If anything I also code, so if you want to learn a bit of iOS coding or even web, I can get you started.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I would be able to share my experiences but I think what I enjoy doing is taking an awesome picture with my DSLR that you could send to your mom, else a new profile picture :)
