About Me

CURRENT MISSION

For the time being - transiance and a lack of comfort.

ABOUT ME

About me? Am I the best person for this?
The basics are that I work in mental health, doing various things like counselling and rehab for people who have been completely, and most often, involuntarily, fucked over by life. I like it, and try my hardest not to use the people I work with to feel better about myself.
I read to the point that I have constant ink stains on my fingers, I listen to music until my ears bleed, and I stare at pictures until my eyes are sore - I try to do my own little attempts at all three, but generally don't like the results.
I like my friends because they're my family - we do little else but make each other laugh aloud.
I drink, I smoke and I swear like a sailor - but still have the ability to keep all three under tight control when it's offensive to the company I'm in - sometimes.
I think the best thing a person can do for themselves is to be introspective - denial and ignorance aren't fun.
I worry that I come across as too pessimistic on paper, but in the real world I love a happy face and an absurd - stupid - sense of humour
And it is very nice to meet you.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

In a short space of time I've become fairly initiated in couchsurfing. I've stayed with a bunch of people and each host has been individual, interesting and incredibly hospitable. I'm hoping that this trend follows.

Interests

I was once asked "what are the three things that you can't imagine your life without" - art & vice immediately came to mind - I'm still working on the third - perhaps it's closer than I think...

Music, Movies, and Books

Anything that's horribly depressing - where the protaganist dies at the end - is turned into a giant insect at the beginning - or both.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

More than one - people at their wit's end - people at the beginning of something incredibly important - people broken - people fixed - people pessimistic - people optimistic - people emotional - people logical...I try and often fail to appreciate the whole gamut - it's been said that I'm obsessed with flaws.
