My name is Djordjo (pronounced exactly like the Italian name Giorgio). I was born in Serbia and lived there until I was 11. My family moved to Southern California in 2000, and I've lived there ever since. I decided to do my master's in Europe (one year in Milano and one year in Paris) just so I could travel and see the world, but then I decided to stay for the PhD (part-time in Leiden, NL, and part-time in Paris). I'm addicted to living in new places and exploring new cultures... I don't know that I'll ever be able to live in one place. :)

I'm doing math (number theory). My hobbies outside of work include partying (at least 3 times a week :P), board games (Seven Wonders and Machiavelli are my favorites), basketball (small forward on my college club team), and, more recently, rowing in the beautiful lakes in the Paris region.
