About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I hope to travel, meet new people and learn new ways of life!

ABOUT ME

I'm adventurous, curious about everything, and very easygoing :)

I love meeting new people and learning about different cultures and ways of life!

I was born in Serbia (Yugoslavia at the time). My family then moved to Vancouver, Canada when I was very little and I mostly grew up there.

I studied Electrical Engineering at UBC in Vancouver, graduated in 2012, worked in Montreal as a Software Developer for almost 2 years, and am now working in Palo Alto, California!

PHILOSOPHY

Do what makes you happy!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have only participated as a couchsurfer so far. I hope to start hosting soon as well!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Summer 2012:
- Alex in Budapest (also got to meet Kjartan and his band!)
- Lenore in Amsterdam

Winter 2014:
- Petar in Vienna

Each of these was a great experience and I got to meet some awesome people!

Interests

My top interest is technology/engineering; I'm very excited by all developments in various engineering fields and how rapidly the capabilities are evolving! I hope to be able to contribute to the advancement with my own work :)

I also like making music (Jazz, Funk, Blues, Classical, Electronic, Dance). My main instrument is piano and I play a little guitar and bongo drums as well.

Here is a bit of music I made: https://soundcloud.com/perfidious-platypus

I enjoy dancing, hiking, camping, skiing/snowboarding, rock climbing, slacklining, and playing squash.

I also like various types of philosophy. If you are interested we can have a friendly discussion/debate on these subjects: nature of existence, consciousness, human nature, morality, motivation, passion :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Climbing up on to the Black Tusk at Garibaldi park in BC was amazing. The view was breathtaking and it felt like being on top of the world.

Some very small concerts I attended in Vancouver with local bands that were really excellent and had great energy and of course, plenty of funk.

I also loved the challenging Engineering projects I got to work on in school and in my jobs! Going through the full engineering process from initial problem definition, to design, development, testing, and deployment is a very rewarding experience!

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you how to play piano, guitar, bongo drum, and dance some salsa and Serbian folk dancing.

Also if you're interested, I can go on about Computer Science / Programming / Engineering for a long time :D

I know how to swear (and also some nice words) in many languages and hope to learn many more :)

Countries I’ve Visited

Finland, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Montenegro, Netherlands

Countries I’ve Lived In
